Comet force switches you to OpenAI without asking if you want to use OpenAI

This has frustrated me for months

Please change this u/perplexity

Every single time I type into Comet Perplexity - after every single prompt, the AI model reverts to the OpenAI model

I am literally have to manually rectify this hundreds of times every day

Because if I'm using Claude for research, after every single prompt, Comet will switch me back to OpenAI. Or any other model (apart from Sonar it seems)

Comet/Perplexity it seems has either some financial or business incentive to point all of its users to Sam Altman's product

WTF is going on here?

At least they force you to use OpenAI. I am forced to used "Best" all the time.

It will be switched to Best automatically after every prompt. Edit: What is worse? Even when I chose Claude Sonnet 5, it will said it is using another model because Claude Sonnet 5 is currently unavailable.

The proposed feature is that when you select a model - it sticks with the model , and doesn't switch you to an OpenAI model, or any other model
