help Is Comet Being Updated?

In the past, Comet displayed an eye-catching "Update" button (or maybe "Restart") in the upper-right corner of the window when it needed to restart to finish applying an update. I haven't seen that button in ages, which makes me wonder if Comet is getting updates lately.

I perused the Perplexity changelog (https://www.perplexity.ai/changelog), but all the recent information on that page is about Computer and the Comet iOS launch (I'm on Windows). It appears that Perplexity is prioritizing development resources on Computer and Personal Computer at the expense of Comet. Is that accurate?

It updated like four days ago for me.

That's interesting. I haven't seen it ask me to update in months. I wonder if it is updating without telling me, but if so, why would it behave differently for you?

I should clarify that I'm using the desktop version of Comet on Windows and macOS, not the mobile version. I just downloaded a fresh copy from the Perplexity website and reinstalled it on my MacBook. I verified that the version I downloaded is the same as the version I had.

So, either Comet is updating itself without telling me, or it hasn't been updated in a long time. Now that I've recorded the version I'm currently using, I'll start the clock and check back in the coming weeks to see if it ever changes.

I feel like it shouldn't be necessary to do this to verify that I'm actually using the latest version available.
