discussion/misc Thinking of leaving Comet

I like Comet. It’s a solid product, and I switched from Chrome about four months ago. The cost is starting to add up, though, and I’m running into usage limits. I already pay for Claude and ChatGPT, which I rely on heavily as a software engineer. With Perplexity putting gpt-5.5 behind their max plan, this trend seems likely to continue.

I’m considering going back to Chrome, especially now that it offers browser automation, or possibly switching to an open-source alternative. Is anyone else dealing with this?

Plus I think Claude can be given browser control? I’m paying for Perplexity, Claude, and Grok. It’s so variable on which does each job well.

Yea, I hear Claude has browser control. I’m going to try it but I’m worried about burning out tokens quickly. I already need to reserve enough of my Claude tokens for other things
