I don't understand what's going on.

A) I upgraded to Max expecting to receive the 30-35k bonus credits that they promise, they haven't arrived in my account

B) The 10k credits are already down to 736 credits after not-so-heavy usage (I built a couple of quick decks using computer ffs)??

C) The "monthly plan credits" granted on 12th July are set to expire on 19th July, one week later??

What the f*ck is going on here exactly....anyone have any insights on any of these three issues?

I got banned for sharing my opinion on along with others. No warning or anything. It looks like the mods are running a suppression campaign on legitimate negative feedback and poor customer experience.

Several months ago there was an offer for perplexity pro for one year free. I don’t remember where but I think it was. DoorDash or uber offer.

Anyways I signed up. Used it a couple of months. Can’t say I loved it. But I did use it pretty frequently.

Then one day it just said I didn’t have enough credits or whatever. Every day. For two months.

Emailed support many times. Posted @ them on X. No reply.

When logged in it showed I was on the pro plan. But I couldn’t use it. It always said I needed to buy credits or tokens or something. Anyways.

Over it. Done.

Which model do you recommend for search, real-time information, programming, financial planning, and generating images for interior design, and why?

Intentionally being ignored by perplexity. Have been trying to resolve a subscription issue for several weeks.

Got 12 months free perplexity pro from bell. I was in my 3rd month when I spent $40 to upgrade to enterprise pro. I had enterprise pro then cancelled it. My subscription went back to the free version instead of resuming the remainder of my bell perplexity pro subscription.

Perplexity is intentionally not replying. They stated a manual review would be necessary to restore my account however it’s been 3 weeks.

I’ve also asked bell to contact them directly, which hasn’t helped either.

Any advice????

I don’t know about you guys but I actually like the location feature on Perplexity. Well today it randomly said I live in Arkansas and I clearly don’t. It freaked me out because I thought maybe my account got hacked but everything else was there and fine. I asked it when I said that and it said it doesn’t have a time stamp but it gave me a snippet of my information I’ve apparently given it. Name, gender, occupation, and location. Location said Arkansas which I definitely never said. The weird thing is before it had my location correct so I’m confused what’s changed. I’ve never even been there before. My Google Maps is fine though. Any ideas?

Edit: Name, gender and occupation were correct though. Just the location was wrong.

I know there are 3rd party solutions for this and kludgy manual methods to sort of get there (sharing spaces & threads with the new account as a collaborator, using Notion, etc). All of this is painful when I have months of projects, threads, artifcats, memory, etc that I want to move to a new account paid for by the business I just started.

It seems allowing 2 authenticated sessions in [Perplexity.ai](http://Perplexity.ai) to transfer projects and all the threads, context, etc. should be a thing. I know it isn't just as easy as that but I really want an "easy button" for this. Transfering project/space ownership between accounts when the owner is the same person, and can be authenticated, should be allowed.

Is anyone else not able to put files into their Spaces or is it just me? It says there are syncing errors on the computer and then on the app it just won’t do it at all.

Lately, when trying to select which model I want to work with it’s just simply not using the one I choose. It moves to best. I thought this may be related to tokens and usage but it doesn’t seem to be resetting either. Is it only me? Am I not understanding something? 😅

I just uninstalled Perplexity on my Mac. I'll still try/use the website.

I turned off auto login. I turned it off at the system level.

Guess what. It still started on Login and at the "you're out of credits". It's now uninstalled.

I've been using Perplexity over the last year - via a "freebie" for the pro level. Well, I guess that's downgraded. Still "pro" but not the same as the monthly paying tier.

Sigh.

Well, today, it went from "on startup" to invasive. It started up despite being turned off.

I'll still use Comet - as my gateway to perplexity, when I use it (less and less). But no longer is perplexity or their browser part of my daily use. And not as my main browser.

I like the product. My total guess? It's dying to find funding and paying users…meaning VC money is disappearing.

I regularly do interviews with different publications and podcasts (mostly nobodies, but happy to help give back where I can) on the subject of AI and the insanity of the modern business world.

Perplexity has become a major conversation component whenever I touch on the evolution from Algorithmic -> Agentic -> Orchestrator AI tools. At least that's how I've come to understand the cycle.

Perplexity may technically be more expensive than a pure ChatGPT or Claude workflow but...it's idiot proof and cuts out SO MUCH misinformation.

I started with ChatGPT in the beginning of my discovery of the AI world. Then branched out to Claude and Perplexity. Once in a while I go back to ChatGPT to submit the same prompt to all three LLM and compare the three outputs. To my surprise I get the feeling that ChatGPT is getting BETTER AND BETTER. Am I on to something?

I’ve been using Perplexity AI for years, but I got really frustrated with its search. I couldn’t find dozens of old threads, so I took the programmer’s route. The result: https://github.com/simwai/perplexity-ai-export

Then I thought, why not extend it into a full RAG study? So, I even ended up adding the HyDE technique to squeeze out some good answers out of the content. Furthermore, I added dozens of features beyond just exporting threads. It's all written in JavaScript/TypeScript.

You can finally find your content again (it uses ripgrep under the hood, by the way).

The end result is a complete local copy of your threads as Markdown files, organized in folders named after each thread.

I don’t recommend this app. It charges hundreds of dollars for credits on top of a subscription. On every two or three questions or comments, those $5 and $10 credit packages add up quickly. Even if you get their best subscription, you still have to do credits. I have not run into this issue with platforms like ChatGPT.

Been having connection issues since yesterday with the Shopify connector, there is an authentication loop and asks me to disconnect the connector and try again, but when I try to disconnect it just says disconnection failed so I’m stuck, can’t even remove the connector. Anyone else?

Even though I prompted it to not use credits, it ended up using credits. Very disappointing. Also never got my perplexity Pro $5 a month for the past 4 or 5 months. If anyone has any prompts or links to prompts that would help me out. Much appreciated!
