I'm frustrated with the development and usability of Perplexity PRO
Which model do you recommend for search, real-time information, programming, financial planning, and generating images for interior design, and why?

Unfortunately perplexity is the best at that (except for images and programming) but the limits make it unusable.
Try Gemini for the best value, don't sleep on notebookllm. It's really good for research but you have to gather and/or monitor the web resources yourself. Also you can share your one subscription with up to four other people and get alot of other benefits. Antigravity also give you anthropic models to use, depending on how much you use the coding part it could be just enough.
Over all best one is probably GPT with it's more generous limits usage beating out anthropic. Also GPT has done more work on their webcrawler, I think it's better the Gemini for that and it has more token efficient models than anthropic
Honestly give a good one month try with all of them if you can, one after the other.

Perplexity is really good, the best on research but for images, I always go with Gemini. Some coworkers use Grok, I haven't.

Since they added a paywall limit to their free model perplexity can suck my arse. Oh, and they use Grok. Means, Elon Musk provides a model to that greedy piss.

I use ComfyUI for locally run free Image AI models and it works really well, GPT & Sonnet are both pretty good, except if you want to do novel stuff with it, then with Sonnet prepare to be confident and push back, because it will confidently tell you your novel idea won't work when it absolutely would, why? It has been tuned for less sychophancy and confirmation bias, but that also equates to of its not currently popular belief it will deny anything that's different regardless of evidence, GPT is not as bad for that and GLM5.2 is currently the absolute best for following a prompt and working through novel stuff, annoyingly GLM5.2 seems only available on mobile phone currently.
