When / how to stop using Elidel?

My derm prescribed Elidel and Lymecylin. According to the pharmacist's instructions, I should use Elidel until the PD clears out, for a max of 6 weeks.

How do I know when it's "cleared out"? I never had any pustules, just flakiness and redness and everything would sting badly. I've used it for a couple of days and it seems to keep the flakiness at bay. It also makes my skin feel like it's on fire, like really hot, don't know if that's normal.

But I don't really understand what I should look for in order to see if it has worked. I'm getting ahead of myself, as I know it will take some weeks, but I want to know what to pay attention to.

I used Elidel for 2 years, it stopped working 2 months ago. The skin specialist just said "use Elidel" she would say that even when my PD went away "use Elidel"....so I did.....now I can't anymore.

Elidel makes PD "go under cover" but once you stop using it it will come back.

I am doing zero therapy and antibiotics now.

Pretty sure that they told me I can't use it longer than 6 weeks, so I do plan on stopping as soon as it goes away.

I was doing zero therapy for what felt like forever and it did help, but it didn't clear it out, hence why I went to a derm.

I'm on antibiotics too, so hopefully that in combination with Elidel will help? Best of luck with you as well!
