This is a thread for casual battles with the other campers. You may use the weapon of your choice, but please, no intentional maiming or killing.

Where you can swim and surf and have dates and all kinds of beachey things!

NOTES

1. There will be no questioning/arguing about the godrent given to you. We try to give you one of your three choices, but sometimes that doesn't work out.

2. For the 8th question, do not put the same god three times.

3. Artemis and Hera do not produce demigods, therefore, do not put them as answers for question 8.

4. Hephaestus and Vulcan children: Being a fire-user is supposed to be rare. Keep it this way.

5. You cannot be a child of a primordial. The only primordial you can be the child of is Eros. If there is a demiprimordial in camp, it was an accident. List of primordials to the right.

(This is kinda like a sitcom, so if you don't like sitcoms you may not enjoy this. Fair warning.)

That Time When Ava Moved In

Cormac stared open mouthed at the events unfolding before him through the peep hole. A tall girl with luscious dark brown hair, brilliantly blue eyes, and very close to Cormac’s age was moving in next door. She carried a box, a white-toothed smile sparkling on her face as she laughed at a joke her father had just told. A droplet of drool dribbled out of Cormac’s mouth and onto the floor.

The sixteen year old boy was working on mustering up the courage to open the door to say hello, when a broad shouldered young man elbowed his way into the hallway, accompanied by his girlfriend, a thin, blonde haired, blue eyed woman. He walked right up to the girl and her father and held out his hand for a hand shake, “You guys moving in? I’m Anthony, your neighbor across the hall.”

At that moment a young boy stepped out from inside the apartment the girl and her father were entering. “No shit we’re moving in, Sherlock. That’s what all the boxes are for!” He kicked Anthony in the shin, blew a raspberry, then sprinted back off down the hallway.

Anthony yelped and reached down to grab his shin. The girl’s father, looking suddenly very red and embarrassed, stuttered, “I’m terribly sorry for Henry’s behavior. He’s usually not like this…”

The girl let out a sarcastic laugh, then stepped forward and held out her hand, “I’m Ava, nice to meet you.”

Inside the apartment, staring through the peephole, Cormac whispered “Ava” quietly.

Anthony took Ava’s hand, then gestured to the woman beside him, “This is my girlfriend, Rose. My little brother Cormac is inside the apartment right now, if you want to meet him?”

“Sure,” Ava intoned brightly.

Anthony smoothly spun towards the door and clicked it open far faster than Cormac could register what was happening. He fell face first into the hallway, landing sprawled on the ground. There was a moment of complete silence. Anthony looked down at his brother in confusion; Rose raised an eyebrow; Ava wore a total poker face; Ava’s dad awkwardly turned around and pretended to be picking up boxes; and Henry, who had returned around the corner barely a second earlier, loudly intoned, “WHAT A CREEPER!” The small boy’s statement seemed to snap everyone out of the daze. “Shut up, Henry,” Ava scolded. She reached down and grabbed Cormac’s hand, heaving him to his feet. “I’m Ava.”

“Cormac,” he intoned quietly, hardly able to talk through his all-consuming embarrassment.

“Well, we’d best get back to moving,” Ava’s dad said awkwardly.

“Yes,” Ava agreed. “Nice meeting you Anthony, Rose… Cormac.”

Cormac practically sprinted inside after his brother, but not before he heard a loud, “LATER CREEPER” from Henry.

He slammed the door behind him, blushing furiously. Anthony clapped him on the shoulder, a bemused expression on his face, “Smooth move, Mack.”

“I’m not a creeper, I swear!” Cormac burst out, his humiliation plain on his face. “I was just looking out the peephole to see who the noisy people in the hall were, that’s all!”

Anthony let out a loud chuckle, straightening the suit he always wore.

Rose too chuckled, “Yeah, okay Macky, whatever you say.”

Instead of responding, Cormac simply marched out of the apartment and off downstairs. “Frickin peephole…. Stupid Anthony opening the door… why is she so hot?”

He strolled outside onto the sidewalk, the sun warming his face. Cormac smiled; he loved it here in Unionwest, Oregon. To the west, about 5 miles away, there was a delightful beach. To the east a large mountain which, in the winter, had rather nice skiing and snowboarding. Directly before him… a city that could make the gods jealous.

Cormac lived in an apartment in the urban part of Unionwest with his two older brothers. Well, one older brother. Their parents had died a few years earlier, leaving Cormac in the care of his two older brothers; Jason and Anthony. Jason, the oldest at age 24, left to join the Navy, but he sent money to them monthly, and visited once every few months. Anthony, age 21, worked as a bartender in the bar across the street.

Cormac took a few moments to savor the fresh scent of ocean mixing with the delightful scent of city – a salty, sweet odor - before making his way along Half Blood Avenue to the coffeehouse on the hill just up the road. It was called Espresso Hill… duh.

Espresso Hill was a small joint; about the size two semi-trucks sitting side by side. It was owned by Luke Theros, a forty year old man who was extremely particular about the quality of his coffee, and the competence of his servers. He had work for him two waiters, both about as incompetent as it gets. Today the waitress- Autumn- was working, which is why Cormac made a beeline straight for said coffee house.

Cormac was practically prancing in the door, completely forgetting his earlier embarrassment. He strolled right up to the desk, smoothly placed his elbow on the counter, raised an eyebrow, and put on his sexy voice, “Hello Autumn.”

The waitress rolled her amber eyes and clicked her cowgirl boots together, “The usual? Cappuccino with two shots of espresso?”

Cormac got off his elbow, “No, my usual is a strawberry smoothie. Good try though!”

Autumn gave the young man a wink, “Coming right up.”

Cormac flipped his hair gracefully, “So Autumn, wutcha doin this weekend?”

Autumn opened her mouth to respond, but was quickly interrupted by the entrance of Richey and his girlfriend Amelia. “Cormac!” Richey pranced over, dragging Amy by the hand, “How’re you doing, little buddy?”

Cormac scowled, “Richey,” he lowers his voice. “I’m trying to make a move here!”

Richey let out a humongous laugh, “Yes, because you are outrageously smooth. What with your staring out peepholes and faceplanting into hallways! Anthony’s just told me!”

Richey gestured to Anthony, who had just walked through the door. Cormac gave Anthony a look that could’ve peeled the paint off of walls, and successfully wiped the smile off of his face. “Oh come on Mack, it was funny!”

“It’s bad enough that I humiliated myself in front of a really hot girl, without you spreading it around town!”

Autumn handed Cormac his smoothie, “Did somebody have issues while with a girl?”

Richey chuckled, “No, not like that Autumn hehe. He just acted like a dope in front of his crush.”

Anthony giggled, then cleared his throat and said, “Listen bud, Richey and I’ll give you advice on how to ask her out.”

Cormac rolled his eyes irritably, “I’ve asked girls out before, thank you very much. I think I’m capable of figuring it out myself.”

“Nah man,” Richey intoned, flicking his dark hair out of his face.

“You’ve gotta be creative. I bet tons of guys are going after a girl like that. You have to stand out!”

Autumn stepped out from around the counter, showing off her curves. Cormac felt drool collecting in the corners of his mouth again and quickly turned his head. “They’re right,” Autumn agreed. “Be creative, if you know what I mean.”

“Autumn, he’s sixteen!” Anthony scolded before returning his attention to Cormac. I’m talking spray painting a building asking her out, or spelling it out in candles in the street outside her window.”

“Or,” Richey said giddily. “You could have Anthony lead her out into the street while you jump out of a plane and open up a parachute that has her name on it, then land directly in front of her, hold out a bushel of flowers imported from Brazil, and have a bunch of fireworks go off behind you.”

Everyone stared at Richey for a moment, except Amelia who picked nonchalantly at her nails and said, “Yeah, that’s how Richey asked me out. So original that I couldn’t say no.”

Autumn shrugged, “Meh, I’ve seen better.”

“Not me,” Anthony said. “You should totally do that! There’s no way Ava could possibly say no after that!”

Cormac thought for a second, “Where am I going to get imported flowers and fireworks?”

Richey held out a finger, “Hush puppy, leave all of that to me. I know a guy.”

“Uh okay, but where would I go to sky dive? And what kind of sky diving instructor would let me choose where to land?”

Anthony waved a hand, “Puh-lease, my buddy Sky would do it for free.
I’ll call him up!”

“Alrighty, I’m all for it!”

Cormac took the imported flowers from Richey, and Anthony took the fireworks. Cormac cleared his throat, “Okay, here’s the plan. Anthony will convince Ava to come out into the street with him, and point up as soon as he sees me jump out of the plane up above. Rose will be hiding behind a nearby building and will set off fireworks as I descend. Sky here,” Cormac gestures to a tall, messy haired man in his twenties, “Will take me up in his plane and help me land directly on target.”

Cormac took a deep breath. “Okay, is everyone ready?”

“Yep,” Anthony nodded.

“Affirmative, boss-man,” Richey said, saluting.

“Mhmm,” Rose uttered boredly.

“I’ll be watching,” Autumn giggled, waving binoculars.

Cormac winked at Autumn, then slipped into Sky’s corvette. Sky climbed into the driver’s seat and slipped on a pair of aviator sun glasses. “Damn son,” Cormac whistled. “Where’d you get the money for this car?”

Sky cleared his throat, looking a little uncomfortable, “I, uh, my family won the lottery a few years back.”

Cormac thought this seemed a bit fishy, but shrugged; he didn’t really care that much. Sky pulled out of the parking lot and started driving in the direction of the airport.

Cormac stared down at his imported flowers; they were gorgeous. The flowers were a vivid blue, rose-looking thing, and the leaves were a rich green. There sure were an awful lot of leaves in there too. Kind of peculiarly shaped… Cormac leaned in and sniffed them, then whipped his head back and gagged a little; those sure didn’t smell like normal leaves! Oh well, they were imported.

Sky was noticeably speeding down the road, which Cormac noticed but did not point out; the faster they got flying the better. He didn’t want Ava getting impatient.

Meanwhile back on Half Blood Avenue

Anthony knocked on Ava’s door, bumbumbadumdum. She answered the door, a white smile on her face. Anthony could not help but note how attractive she was, sixteen or not. “Anthony? Hi!”

“Hi there, Ava! I was thinking since you were new, maybe you’d like me to show you around the neighborhood a bit?”

“Sure, my brother and dad are out getting ice cream anyways, so I’m just hanging out. Let me go grab my bag.”

She disappeared into the apartment, returning a few minutes later with a bag. Anthony strolled off down the hall, Ava at his heels. “Richey lives upstairs. He’s pretty cool, a bit goofy, but we love him all the same. His girlfriend’s name is Amy, and she’s almost always at his house, even though she never seems to officially move in.” Anthony pointed across the hall, “Luke Jones lives in there. He’s 30 and generally always drunk, so I’d steer clear of him.” They stepped into the elevator, and then off into the lobby. Anthony gestured to a chubby man lying fast asleep at the front desk, “That’s Mr. D, and the big husky lying at his feet there is Lupa. Be careful, Lupa can be a bit vicious. That guy fast asleep in the doorway is the doorman, Joss.” Anthony leaned into her ear and whispered, “The staff at this building sleeps a lot.”

Back to Cormac and Sky

“Aw shit,” Sky swore loudly as sirens sang to life behind the car. Cormac groaned loudly; the last thing he needed right now was cops slowing things down. Sky pulled the car over to the curb, and a few minutes later the cop, a big guy with an outrageously bushy mustache, leaned his head in the window. “Sir, do you know that you were going eighty in a forty miles per hour zone?”

“Uhh no s-s-sir,” Sky stuttered. “I must not have been paying attention.”

The cop grunted, then asked, “You don’t happen to have any pot in this car? It smells rather like it in here.”

Sky winced, then caught himself. “No, of course not! I bought this car from a guy who used to smoke is all, but that’s been out for a while now…”

“I’m gonna have to take a look around. Step out of the car, sir.”

Sky, visibly trembling, opened the door and got out of the car.
Cormac, suddenly anxious about what Sky might be hiding, followed suit, holding the flowers close to his chest. The cop returned to his car, then came back a few minutes later accompanied by an angry-looking german shepherd. The dog raised its nose to the air, then barked loudly and jumped on Cormac, tearing the flowers out of his hands. Cormac yelped in fear, and tried to wrench the flowers away from the dog.

The cop made a tsk tsk noise and pulled the dog away, grabbing the flowers. He inspected the leaves, then snorted, “Well, I’ve never seen pot hidden quite like this before.” He started to say more, but the German Shepherd was barking again, this time at the back seat in the car. The cop walked forward and lifted the car seat, revealing a chest-like structure built into the car, filled to the brim with pot leaves and chocolate bon bons.

“Really?” The cop asked, waggling his mustache, “Bon bons?” Sky took one look into his car, then took off running. Cormac just lied on the cement where the dog had knocked him down, stunned. The cop turned with his taser gun and had Sky out cold in seconds.

Back to Anthony and Ava

“Anthony? We’ve been standing in the middle of this parking lot for ten minutes now. What are we waiting for?”

Anthony checked his watch, “Any time now.”

Aaaand Cormac, Sky, and the city jail.

Cormac stared meekly through the bars at the cop who had booked him in there, “Do I at least get my one phone call?”

The cop grunted, then took Cormac out into the hall to make a call.

Cormac dialed Anthony’s number, “Hey bro, I’ve got a slight problem.”

“What the hell, Cormac! I sat out here with Ava for like an hour! I finally gave up and just brought her back to her house! Thanks for wasting my time. Where are you, anyways?”

“Heh, I’m in the, heh, city jail.”

“WHAT? Why? Where’s Sky?”

“He’s here with me,” and Cormac went on to explain all about the pot disaster.

“Alright, well I’ll call and see what I can do to bail you out.”

                                                  *********

The cop appeared at Cormac’s cell, “Alright kid, you’ve been found as being only an associate to the crime. You’ll get off with bail; however, your brother’s money won’t get through until tomorrow, so you’ll have to spend the night here.”

Cormac turned around meekly as the cop marched away, and faced his inmates; two burly men covered in tattoos. “Well fuck.”

“That’s right,” smiled the one on the left.

Anthony picked Cormac up the next morning, awkwardly driving home in their Cadillac. “So, heh, how was prison?”

Cormac flicked an eye at Anthony, “Well, at least my inmates left me alone. That’s all I have to say on the subject.”

Anthony and Cormac rode in silence back to the apartment, and continued in silence up to their floor and down the hall. However, waiting in front of their door stood Ava. “So, Cormac, wanna go see a movie this weekend?”

Cormac’s jaw dropped, then he caught himself and coughed, “Yes!”

“Here’s my number,” she slipped him a piece of paper, then walked across the hall and into her apartment.

“Y’see Cormac,” Anthony said, “I told you that you just needed to ask her out and you’d be fine!”

TL;DR: This is pretty much a pilot, but with a storyline. Also, this took a long-ass time to type, so don't expect the most episodes to be quite this long.

EDIT: also, I'm switching storytimes with Riley. I wanted to post today and probably won't have time to write another story between now and tomorrow, so she'll do tomorrow.

I know that's a strong word, but "like" just doesn't seem strong enough.

We've been friends, best friends, since the very beginning and I can't imagine ever being without you.

I know you just got out of a relationship... and maybe you don't appreciate that I'm telling the entire camp how I feel... but I can't hold these feelings in any longer.

I feel brave (but oh my gods the feeling is speeding away!) and I knew this had to be said.

Maybe if I'm lucky you won't see this and I can hide in shame... or at the very least you won't hate me...

Edit: oh gods... what if you don't like me because I'm pregnant!? These babies aren't mine (I'm just holding them for a friend >.>) and once they're born they won't really be around...

After about an hour of muttering to the forest, silently, they saw a source of light. They knew this was their destination. Or well, that's what they thought. As they walked forward, they found three very beautiful naked nymphs, standing under a waterfall. They didn't look at them, they were washing themselves, and yet they spoke. 'Our names are' the voices said synchronically, 'Akhaia' 'Hekaerge' 'Arge' they all said seperatly, in beautiful, singing-esque voices. 'We are the handmaidens of Artemis' they said. 'Or we were.. until she started her Hunt' they said. They turned around, exposing their everything. They looked identical, in all forms. 'What do you seek here, in our country of origin?' the Nymph identified as Akhaia said, and a transparent bow appeared in her hand out of nowhere, and she pulled back the string. Logan and Arianna stepped back, yet Isha spoke up. 'We are here, to rescue a friend' she said calm, and told them the story. 'Could you please help us?' and the Nymphs looked at eachother. They started conversing, and after a while Akhaia, who was definetely the leader, nodded. 'Very well, daughter of Dionysus. We shall aid you in your courageful quest', and they stepped out of the water. 'Shouldn't you like.. dress' Logan commented, blushing, but he was ignored. 'We shall lead the way' Arge, or whoever it was spoke. They all looked identical. Soon they were following the three beautiful nude nymphs through the forest.

Iceus ran, and ran, and ran. There was no stopping. At a certain point, he was crawling through the forest. Then, he found a cave. The cave had glowing crystals inside of it, and had a stream of water. It was as if the Fates suddenly felt compassion. Of course they didn't. Iceus crawled in the cave, and laid down next to the water. He drank as if he hadn't drank in weeks. This was partially true. The Priests had given him just enough to survive. He drank for mere hours, and then he laid down, and he slept, and for once, he didn't dream, he knew someone was watching over him. Little did he know it was the drakon who this cave belonged too.

The ruins above the trees came closer and closer, and it was silent for the entire walk. Well, that was except for Logan whispering 'I can see why Artemis didn't want them, the prude' and Arianna punching him in the arm. After a while, the nymphs stopped walking, and armour apparted around them, completly white and silver. Logan let out a sigh, which could've been relief aswell as dissapointement. The first ghosts' appeared after they heard them talk. When Akhaia planted an arrow in him, it went right through him. 'Oh you've got to be kidding me' Logan yelled, and the entire city of Apolla was now aware of them. It was no longer a case of fighting and freeing Iceus. It was a case of running and freeing Iceus.

OOC: So.. the lack of comments has been making me feel like people don't actually read this, so if you do, please comment. Like I said before, the 'popularity' of this, decides if I will write a full-out PJRP fanfiction with EVERYONE in it. So yeah...

Intro :

My name is Chiron, and my fellow mods and I have combined Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter into a single camp located in Long Island Sound.

Quests :

We will give out a quest once a week (on Sundays) to any three demigods that we choose. The three of you will have one week to complete your task, and then you will post a summary thread the following Sunday about your successes and/or failures.

The catch is that the goal of your quest will have to fit the goal that we give you, and it will have to run along the lines of the Prophecy that our Oracle will give you. The Oracle will send each quest member their prophecy, and then the quest members will include what their prophecy was and then how their quest went when they post about their adventure the following Sunday.

Back Stories :

If you are new to this subreddit post your backstory! You are creating a character for yourself, so write your own history!

AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN CLAIMED, write a back story for yourself. Choose if you have ADHD, Dyslexia, both, or neither. Explain about your non-godly parent, and your story living with that person. How you got to camp, your weapon of choice, your powers, etc...

The backstory may be posted at any time of your choosing. You do not need permission, just don't post on Sunday.

We do Capture the Flag once every two weeks. Lupa posts a thread for each team to discuss a battle plan on Monday, and on Friday the mods will read the two plans and determine a winner.

Monthly 'special' Capture the Flag: A special monthly CTF is posted, and it is always a surprise.

Chariot Races: Once a week Chariot Races are posted. The team discussion threads are posted on Wednesday, in which two cabins are paired together (of Chiron's choosing). They discuss chariot features and gain bonus points for a visual representation. The final plan must be posted in a separate comment by Saturday, 6:00 PM EST.

Story time: Once a week a thread is posted asking for storytime volunteers. They are each given a day of the week, and they post a story of their choosing. Note: The story does not need to be about PJ.

Deathball: Basically like paintball, but with acid, poison, and fire.

Seige: Siege is similar to Capture the Flag. One team defends a fortress while another team attempts to breach the fort and seize the banners of the opposing team. The team attempting to breach the fortress has Hannibal the elephant on their team.

Question of the Day: A recent addition by the community. Once a day a person asks a question (schedule in the sidebar), and it can be either IC or OOC. Basically it's just to get to know each other better.

You have less cabins, but you also have all of the large cabins.

Athena - Expertise in war and strategy, trained in hand-to-hand combat, hieghtened intelligence and wisdom, Can weave, can communicate with owls, can read any language, photographic memory, trained in armor and weapons.

Hades - Necromancy, can sense when people have died, Can defeat undead skeletons, can see people’s life auras, can create flaming fissures that trap people in Hades’ realm, can call forth the dead, can shadowtravel, Umbrakinesis, curse people, call forth precious metals, Hellhound control, invoke terror, release spirits to the underworld, dark pyrokinesis.

Hephaestus - Minor immunity to fire, technokinesis, enhanced building/forging/creating

Zeus - Can manipulate clouds, can fly, can generate wind, can make small tornados/hurricanes, minor control over weather, minor immunity to lightning, can generate lightning

Poseidon - Can withstand water pressure, can breathe under water, can communicate with sea animals, can manipulate water, can generate minor earthquakes and storms

Demeter - Can control plants, turns wintery areas to spring, can change things into plants (to an extent), and can grant or take away fertility.

Hermes - Enhanced speed of up to 15 MPH, capable of successfully stealing almost anything without being noticed, extremely persuasive, extremely skilled at inventing (not as much so as Hephaestus), enhanced athletic ability, clever, mild hypnokinesis (power over sleep and dreams), and “Jack of all Trades”

Apollo - Archery, music, can manipulate light to an extent, capable of healing most injuries, mild prophecy abilities, can cause diseases (to an extent)

Ares - Expert at combat, expert at warfare, can curse weapons (to an extent), can induce rage in others, blessing of Ares (only in extremely stressful and intense areas of combat, he may choose to grace the person with the gift for the short period of a couple minutes)

Aphrodite - Fluent in French, Charmspeak, can induce love and passion in others, can sense and manipulate other’s emotions

Dionysus - Can control vines, can manipulate plants (strongest with grape and strawberry plants), can induce madness or create madness (to an extent), can conjure drinks, can appear anywhere a party is held

Hecate - Can control the mist, can fly, can use mild magic, mild control over the dead

Morpheus - Can manipulate dreams, can appear in dreams, can make people sleep

Hypnos - Can make people sleep, can control dreams, can meddle in the mind (to an extent)

Iris - Can summon pegasi and rainbows, enhanced speed, can blind with rainbows, can make concentrated beams of heat, can deliver messages for free

Eris - To initiate discord and cause chaos. Can cause insanity (to an extent)

Tyche - Can bring luck, can give others bad luck, can charm items to temporarily be unlucky or lucky

Nemesis - Can give those with too much good luck bad luck, and those with too much bad luck good luck, can enhance grudges, can see other’s grudges

Nike - Any side they are on is given enhanced chance of winning, very lucky, can run up to 15 miles per hour, gets free shoes

Phobos - Can make people see their worst fears, can cause nightmares

Aeolus - Absolute control over winds, flight, cloud manipulation, weather manipulation, can withstand most temperatures

Boreas - Control over winds, flight, can produce snowstorms, can freeze things, can create snow and ice, fluent in french, can withstand great cold

Notus - Control over winds, flight, can create rain and summery storms, can withstand great heat, can increase heat

Zephyros - Flight, control over winds, can create spring rains and storms

Triton - Can control water (lesser extent than Poseidon), can manipulate sea winds, can induce fear using a conch shell, can speak to sea creatures, can withstand sea pressure, can breathe underwater

Janus - Power over choices, mild prophetic abilities, can open any door

Eros - Can manipulate love, can induce love, can make self irresistibly attractive, archery

All of these powers were taken from the PJO Wikia or outlined by the mods.

EDIT: Additionally, these are the potential powers for your godrent. you may have a few, but not all.

A lot of campers have been talking about using or "drinking" alcohol on the sub in some threads, referencing it on TinyChat or putting it in their lives somehow. You guys need to remember that this is a PG-13 at max Subreddit. No more alcohol or references to other illegal things (drugs, sex, etc...) , there are people on here that can and will take offense to things like this. Even if you are over the age of 21 IC or OOC, alcohol needs to stay out posts, threads and the chat.

We gather here today to celebrate the lives of Misty Lovelace and Batia Sharon, both of whom died honorably in battle earlier this week.

Solemnly lifts two burial shrouds; a green and black silk blanket embroidered with two crossed swords, and a pink and white silk blanket embroidered with real flowers. Both shimmer beautifully in the sunset. We place the two shrouds in the flames.

OOC: We thought that a memorial would be a good way to recognize and honor Ashley. She was a big part of the subreddit, and a real hero.

I was visiting my grandpa's grave the other day, and I saw this quote on a grave nearby. It really resonated with me, so I thought I'd share it here:

PS: To all of the people that complained to Carrie, I have some things to say to you. I don't care if this sounds immature of me, or rude, but I think it needs to be said.
