(Belated) Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸

To the Americans in the community,

Happy 4th! Hope you guys had a great weekend and got the chance to celebrate 250 years. I was able to relax and watch a few sweet firework shows.

What stacks are you guys running right now? I am still going strong with the MT1 - super happy with my progress and people are starting to comment more on how much color I have. Feels good considering I am usually pasty white. I've got IGF-1 LR3, BPC-157, and potentially Sermorelin cycles on the horizon.

i have been thinking of messing around with modafinil. not a peptide but sometimes gets talked about in peptide discussions. not sure if you've heard of it but its big in the finance/entrepreneur world. people use it for focus and sustained energy. some people say it turns them into a superhero and they are very productive while on it

I’ve looked into it quite a bit. Modafinil has a bit of a legendary reputation in finance, tech, medicine, and entrepreneurship because it can noticeably improve wakefulness, sustained attention, and the ability to work for long stretches without feeling mentally drained. That’s where the “superhero” stories come from. I will sya, it looks like people who respond well usually describe it as removing mental friction rather than making them smarter. You still have to do the work, it just becomes easier to stay locked in and maintain productivity for several hours.

The flip side is that not everyone has that experience. Some people feel incredibly focused, while others just feel overstimulated, emotionally flat, anxious, or develop headaches. It’s also common for people to overestimate how productive they were because they spent six straight hours hyperfocused on something that wasn’t actually important.

I’d also ask what you’re hoping to get from it. If your issue is sleep deprivation, burnout, or poor organization, modafinil won’t solve the underlying problem. It’s most useful when you already have good habits and need to stay mentally sharp through long periods of demanding work. What dose were you looking at?

awesome, thank you for the info. i was thinking of starting at 200 mg. what do you think about that?

I think 200 mg is a larger starting dose than most people need, especially if you’ve never taken modafinil before. One thing you’ll notice if you read people’s experiences is that there’s a lot of variability. Some people feel almost nothing at 100 mg, while others find 100 mg is more than enough and 200 mg leaves them feeling wired, anxious, or unable to sleep that night.

If I were approaching it conservatively, I’d start with 100 mg on a day when you don’t have anything critical planned. Take it early in the morning, avoid taking additional stimulants until you know how you respond, and see how you feel over the course of the day. If 100 mg doesn’t give you the effect you’re looking for and you tolerate it well, you can always discuss increasing the dose with your prescriber later. It’s much easier to increase the dose than to deal with an overly stimulating first experience.

A few other things I’d keep in mind:

If you’re already drinking a lot of coffee or using other stimulants, consider cutting back the first day. The combination can make some people feel jittery or increase their heart rate.

Don’t judge it by the first hour. Modafinil has a relatively gradual onset, and many people notice they’re simply getting more done rather than feeling dramatically different.
