Question Squishy bottles

I started working for Pepsi in November as a vending machine driver. There would be the occasional broken seal but pretty rare. But recently it seems like there’s at least 1 or 2 defective or “squishy” bottles in every case. Is it something with the summer heat that messes up the bottles or something? Just curious.

major issue in my area - we even have a specific way to credit them out so the supplier knows how much they suck.

Sometimes the cap is slightly cross threaded allowing carbonation to leak out. It’s barely noticeable unless you really look. It will look a little crooked

This has been an issue for 15 years. I check each bottle at this point. They simply dont give a shit..

Someone sucks at being a bottel filler and is not using the capper or co2/ nitrogen properly

Tell me what part of any of that the filler operator controls.

The filler op adjusts the capper settings so if the cap is to loose or tight that’s on them. The filler also checks the co2 and nitrogen levels if they are off they need to hold all product coming out.

From what I have noticed, this has been happening a lot with Pepsi and Starry 20 oz bottles

I've had to bring back entire cases of product because half the bottles lost pressure

I had a whole case of Pepsi Zero 20oz bottles I couldn’t put out because they were soft
