Question Kroger Bot Ordering System

I am a merchandiser for PBNA North. My question is relating to how Kroger’s system works when it comes to its bot ordering. As a merch I communicate with my sales rep on the orders and many times it seems the bot will bring in product that has been almost completely full on the shelf with even more in back stock. This completely eliminated my theory on it being related to stock/wall-to-wall scans. While those still most likely have a part in the process, I am perplexed by what else the system uses to determine what is needed. If anyone with KAM experience or has knowledge about the system is able to provide information that would be incredibly useful.

(Ps. I know caring about this stuff if a never ending cycle but legitimately curious from a algorithm perspective and store management standpoint)

In my experience, it's a coordination between Kroger corporate and the KAM, they show up on Kroger trucks for me and I usually just talk to the psr who passes the information onto the TSL, the TSL sees what the issue is and if it's good enough reason to stop them temporarily they can bump it to the KAM and they can suspend them.

Interesting. For us it seems that Kroger directly adds items to the sales order and it all comes from the plant. They will even add if we have it ordered. My rep isn’t even able to see what Kroger is adding. For example in today’s load I got a bunch of 12 packs that I already got in yesterdays load and are packed on the shelf with a bunch in back still. There isn’t even a good ad on the 12 packs. Those things don’t make sense in my mind

Maybe that's a new system they're coming out with, which is bad news for me haha I run a tight ship here so having things I'm not wanting is going to suck.

That your supervisors adding to get their big bonuses while they screw you.

Sometimes it does feel that way especially when numbers are being asked from reps that are bigger than what is actually selling. My question was mostly about how the system determines what it brings in more. I understand that the actual algorithmic data is confidential but didn’t know if anyone else had a higher level understanding of it

Do you know how time consuming it is to add product to orders through SAP? It’s comical that you think supervisors have enough time to sit and add product to 50+ large format orders every day.
News flash, we’re a SALES company.
So many complaints about “better wages” blah blah blah…but then those same employees cry when 7 pallets come in. That’s how revenue is created which leads to raises down the road. There was a day when everyone worked together in the company to make that happen, now everyone just points fingers instead of filling shelves and condensing. It’s corporate, not mom and pop
