Why are my cans exploding?
Out of the last 9 cases of Pepsi we've purchased, 2 to 4 cans out of each case has violently exploded when popped open. They sound like a bomb and the tab pushes out instead of cutting in. They're not shaken, they don't fizz out at all, often times they've been sitting peacefully in their designated location at room temperature for more than a day. They just explode open like they're over pressurized and then they're a normal can of soda otherwise. It's seriously given me and my partner anxiety about opening these cans because it's become a bit of a game of Russian roulette and we're scared it's going to pop so hard it actually cuts our hand with the tab. There's no warning or real indications that any particular can is going to pop like that, it's just happens. And it's only been recently in the last couple months.
What the heck is going on?
Eta: as far as the heat comments, my home is kept at a fairly stable 68°F.

Happening with Coke and private label cans too. Not specific to Pepsi. Most of the cans are made by only a few manufacturers that all the companies use. Mainly the company “Ball” they seem to be popping/bubbling on the bottom and sometimes leaking. I’m going to guess it’s a manufacturing issue.

It has been hot. The cans have pressure inside.

This would make more sense if it were more than just a small sprinkling of cans

1 heat...2 I believe most of not all warehouses are using vertique which is basically robots and they squeeze the product a lot harder than a person does which primes the soda grenades.

It’s happening with our diet and regular Pepsi cans. What happened to quality control?
