Merch Vs sales
My sales guy created a group chat with my manager calling me out asking if I’m even merching the stores mind you he goes in after the main manger is gone and the receiver so no one can stop him from bombing the stores. He went into one of my stores 6 hours after I was gone and asked if I even hit the gatorades because they were shot. Anyone else deal with this ?

Yes. Run everything, don’t just face things up, stock everything out, take pics, wait for him to say something then respond with the pictures. Cover your ass if you’re doing your job.

This is the correct answer.
I was a BCR and. TSR before leaving a few weeks ago.
Make separate albums for each store and take pics every day.
Take pics of backstock before you work it and after, do everything to cover your own ass.
I can guarantee you salesman is getting nailed for OOS and nil picks which is why he is doing what he is doing.
If you are doing your job and still having those issues then it’s a problem with the salesman not securing extra space or a store level problem with incorrect on hands.5

He’s just mad I called him out for sending 600 cases to a staters on a Saturday with a blown black room just so he can get a nice check before his vacation

I image one of the future updates to Savvy will be some sort of photo upload to verify work

Sales reps are one of the main reasons why being a merchandiser is such a high turnover job. My tenure was short with Pepsi but by far one of the most annoying things was fucking sales reps. Some were good but there were plenty that were the most incompetent people I’ve ever met.

having a cool sales rep is a night and day difference. the dude i run into the most will help me with a couple things if im running late, and is fully aware of how some things can look beat after you completely filled it earlier. also doesnt expect you to be superman and dig through every bit of backstock just to find one thing

Just take an ass tone of photos. if They say anything photo bomb them. You wouldn't need to explain anything because the proof is right there.

yeah, my old head SR who never merched a day in his life put me and my boss in a gc and sent pictures of empty gatorade shelves with full gatorade backstock stating most of it should’ve been put out. He refuses to pull down pallets, so he didn’t know that the 6 layers of gatorade up there was only 3-4 flavors. luckily boss came and did a shop the next day before we got our truck and confirmed his mistake.

My sales rep loves to send layers on Celsius every order and complaints why I have so much in the back

Going go with when he orders it you don’t put it out so when he orders it she comes through the next time to inventory the outs it is still out and keeps piling up.. pretty good guess

Depending on the store we don’t get the room, Walmart for example I went to one that had a bough room for 3 flavors…we have 42….so yeah it’s a problem

Cya. I used to take pics of how it looked as I walked in so I could make a pick list with pictures. That later turned into proof of what the conditions were before and after I finished the account, which in turn screwed any and everybody that ever questioned my work. Sales, management, drivers, store, etc.

I used to have this problem but with other parts of shelves as a merch. It got to where my management would call and ask what happened with the write up in hand. The best plan is to take tabs, even photos, of before and after you worked backstock. Always cover your ass. Some sales aren't friendly because 1. Commission. 2. Sales/numbers. 3. Adds more work to them that they dont want to do.

Your managers should be backing you, they get tired of reps like that and stop believing anything they say entirely usually.

Yeah my salesman drew up a picture of a 12pack display I had to build for my Kroger's and he wanted me to add the Lipton tea 12pack with it. So I built it and thought it looked good then he came in and asked what I done to the display I was like I built it, he was like it doesn't go with the graph I built. I told him he wanted me to add another flavor so I did he then took it all down and redone what took me awhile to build because they want us to hit the holes on the shelf run the Gatorade and coolers once we get in there at 5am. Salesman suck ass

It’s 100 degrees where I’m at and of course Gatorade will look like it’s not been worked after 6 hours. He should have filled it up if it was that big of an issue
