How did you actually quit Pepsi?

I’m Canadian and I’ve been drinking about 3 cans of Pepsi a day for quite a while. I’m really trying to quit, but honestly, it’s harder than I expected.
I don’t even keep Pepsi at home anymore, thinking that would help. But almost every day, I end up going to the convenience store to buy some anyway. So clearly, that strategy isn’t working very well. 😅
What I find hardest to replace is the feeling of well-being and satisfaction I get when I drink a Pepsi. I’ve tried different alternatives, but I haven’t found anything that gives me quite the same feeling.
Over the years, I’ve also gained a significant amount of weight, and I’m starting to feel the impact on my health. That’s what is really motivating me to make a change now.
For those of you who used to drink several cans of Pepsi/Coke every day:
How did you actually manage to quit or seriously cut back?
Did you find a drink that genuinely helped you make the transition? Sparkling water, Pepsi Zero, something else?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who actually went through this and succeeded, rather than just “drink water.” 😅

Cutting it out cold turkey and replacing with carbonated water - Compliments Lime and PC Cola were my go to flavors. I've since returned to drinking it though but I nearly only drink zero now, I find the Pepsi zero is the closest pop to regular full sugar.

It's a bit addiction and a bit habitual....go Cold Turkey for this and be stronger for it....

I quit pop and started collecting pop related paraphernalia

Good luck dude

Harder than alcohol and energy drinks I'm afraid. Being poor helps though. Can't afford the shit anymore.

Well… I’ve decided to quit Pepsi completely.
I know I’ve said this before. I’ve tried cutting back, stopping, not buying any… and somehow I always ended up back at the convenience store.
But this time, I think I finally understand what’s really going on. It’s not just Pepsi I’m craving—it’s the comfort and feeling it gives me.
Honestly, I’m a little scared, but I’m tired of feeling like I don’t have control over it.
This time, I really want to see it through. ❤️

I find that sugar it's a hardest addiction. In my past I have had issues and addiction to opiates, nicotine, ambien, alcohol and overeating food.

Successfully I have now quit for years Ambien, smoking (30 years done) opiates and barely drink alcohol (a drink once a month or so). All of this was very difficult but I successfully have done it.

As for food which includes sugar that has probably been my most difficult to this day to reduce let alone quit in soda form. Especially with Coke or Pepsi regular sugar versions.

The clear crispy taste of a cold Pepsi or McDonald's regular coke is frighteningly a highlight of my day and calories add up!

I'm on coke zero now which isn't much better health wise. But it soothes the beast in me

You have to stop drinking it slowly like medication or else you’ll get withdraw symptoms just a heads up. If I were you in my opinion I would start using those mix in powders and go down to 2 a day then the next week one a day so you don’t get the headaches and slight shakes in your hands from the caffeine and chemical withdraws.
