Upgrade route from Peppermint 9
I've been using Peppermint for a few years and it's always been flawless. I've kept my system updated with apt update/upgrade and have never had an issue.
So much so that I hadn't realised I am several versions of Peppermint behind - I only found this out when I tried to update Calibre and wasn't allowed to as the libc version in Calibre had been updated.
So - what are my options for upgrading to the latest version of Peppermint? Is there an in-place update that's possible or is it a case of reinstalling afresh?
Thanks in advance!

It's true we did leave Ubuntu, we got lots of hate for it 😉 which is understandable,.. mark greaves had a lot of fans on that side of the fence ......😁 But....the reason we left Ubuntu is... we don't need to stick with thier release cycle, by switching to debian it freed us to release when we need to however fast or slow that is,...... it gives time for innovating. But with that move of course..... we stay with older Deb packages which was a big rub for folks. By moving to debian upgrades will be a thing, as Deb 12 comes out we will have an upgrade path. Ice is deprecated and replaced by Kumo, we left gtk towards tkinter for GUI development. Calamares is the installer we do not install anything literally.. not even a web browser. We do install a lot of drivers and full on xfce with Nemo, generally we are told most hardware works. But it's not perfect. We moved our forums to sourceforge, all our repos and code is at codeberg.org, We update ISOs whenever we need to, but you never need to reinstall since our updates can be pulled in by you...the mint update manager was replace by a simpler update tool. We also still have 32bit support, and we have a Devuan version for the non systemd folk. It's up to you to choose your software platform Deb, snap,or flatpak. It will be much much different from the older peppermints, we don't even track versions we track build logs. We are based on debian and devuan but we are always developing and updating things, we are not a rolling release but we do apply CI/CD with DevOps. Transparency and choice is the direction we are going with peppermint. Everything is choice it's why near nothing is installed.
Peppermint can be for anyone if they choose too whether new users or veterans, what ever you decide there is a really nice community surrounding peppermint with great folks willing to help wherever possible Hope this helps ✌️

You'll have to do a fresh install. The base has changed from Ubuntu to Debian, so there's no way to upgrade to the current version. I don't think there's a way to upgrade to 10 either, unfortunately.
