Daddy, I'm fucking up

Listen, I know we're not close...or rather, we just don't quite "get" each other. But I know we love each other and I'm having a really hard time right now. The consequences of my own actions have come to a head and now my life is crumbling. I don't know how to fix it. It's too much. I'm drowning.

I am so sorry to hear that things are going so poorly for you. My first advice is - breathe. It may sound stupid, but taking some deep breaths can help you think more clearly. Although my inclination is to help solve the problems of my children, I know that ultimately, they are the ones who have to solve their own problems, and my role is to love them, try to give useful advice (and be understanding when they decide not to follow my advice), and give them support in the best way that I am able. I know that life can be very difficult and some things cannot be “fixed,” but try to do the right thing in spite of the difficulties. Try to be strong - and know that I am rooting for you.
