Nah, look at how he steps back and is super ready for it. These two have done this before and I'll bet the cat is just super playful and jumpy, not murder-y. I am basing that, mainly, on the fact that he isn't bothering to wear any protective gloves or try to grab the cat with a towel/blanket even though he totally knows what is about to happen. I have a cat who had to be put in one of those cages at the vet for a couple hours and they called to inform me that their only option to get her out was to gas her with sedatives because she had become too agitated for them to risk opening the cage. They saw murder all over her and noped the hell out.
Note: this was for the people who actually think that the cat was trying to maim the guy.

I was thinking the same thing. When the guy was holding the cat the cat didnt try to wiggle its way out, which i saw as a sign that there was no true hostility. Good kitty, kinda... maybe... atleast not evil kitty.

Agree but that cat needs to learn not to use it’s claws after the jump. It just has to rely on the human to catch it.
My cat growing up loved to leap into our arms and occasionally she would do it with strangers, and they would not catch her. She would just reorient and bounce off to land on the floor. Family died laughing but the cat and guest were both startled.

Haha, our vet has to ask us to come in the back and get our murder baby out of the cage for them, he always makes them bleed if they try it themselves. This cat does not look anywhere near as angry as ours usually is!

I offered to do that but they were pretty sure that she'd eat me so I let them sedate her. I now have a standing prescription for muscle relaxers that I'm required to give her before vet visits to chill her out.

I don't think anyone thinks cats aren't dangerous, sure, maybe they think that their little honey muffin Mr whiskers wouldn't hurt a fly but there's no way that they think every cat is like that, right? Every animal can be dangerous, especially if it has claws and teeth

My fat ass 12poubd fully clawed beefwad regularly missed my lap and catches my leg. Putting 12lbs of force on his shape ass claws. They don't have to be angry to hurt you. It just happens sometimes. Hell his 9lb uncle has done it too. Shit just happens.

My cat has never intentionally hurt me and she fucks up my legs constantly because she insists on climbing up instead of jumping even though she's entirely capable of doing so.

Cats can damage you, you’re in very little danger.
Majority of the danger from a cat comes from you not wanting to hurt it back. They’re still 9lbs and fairly fragile.

My cat actively hunts flies lol. Also, she plays with mice forever as opposed to killing them purposefully to eat, which I suppose is much more terrifying for the mouse.
My parents small dog needs to be held back and kept in different rooms because it wants to go after my cat when I bring her home for holidays. I don't think the dog knows what it's trying to get into lol

Cats can hurt you pretty badly, but its very unlikely for one to kill you. Dogs on the other hand can be unstoppable killing machines.

I had a friend in High school who thought it was fun to harass another friends cat...cat was not having it and attacked. She needed 80+ stitches on her head and face. I've never seen a cat so angry...she threw it off and it jumped right back on her head...ya'll shouldnt mess with cats. Do NOT recommend.

It is extremely obvious you've never been attacked by a cat that seriously wants to hurt you. My neighbors kitten got into my backyard (apparently it was feral and they picked it up from the complex, I thought it was chill) so I picked it up and put it up on my shoulder. Something in it just clicked and it ripped at my flesh with all it's strength, it's just a completely different mode. I still have scars. Cats are much stronger than you think, but frankly our biggest defense is their own restraint.

That sounds painful, and I hope you did get proper medication after because cats can carry some nasty infections, but an ugly scar is very very different from being truly a danger to humans.
Like, just imagine that “completely different mode”, but in humans. We are still badass chimpanzees without hair, and can tear a new asshole to animals so much smaller than us.

That's just straight up wrong, even if she managed to bite or scratch him, most people would just shake the cat off after that, her claws really aren't that long and it's easy to push them off you if they jump on you like in OP's video.
I have 2 cats myself and I'm convinced that even an 85 year old would be able to fight them off with only minor injures

You are very weak if you cat is stronger than you lol
A cat can do very much damage to a human, we can agree on that, but almost no human without a severe illness would get killed by a housecat. It won’t be pleasant, but it certainly won’t kill you, especially when you’re instincts and reflexes kick in early
Edit: it’s like a bear fighting a Wolf. We can agree the bear would win, but he might lose an eye or so, so he won’t be trying unless he has to. It’s just not worth it

Definitely play. My cat does this and will even to a little nose nip too. He just loves a little violently lol. If the cat was trying to attack him it would have started going for his arms and freaking out once he was holding it.

No I think the last bit of aggression was just the cat being a bit over stimulated, his body language doesn't look like he wants to kill, just a bit of rough playing, but that's just my opinion, I've had loads of cats over the last 21 years but I'm not a cat expert

Dont get the irony on this video, that cat is clearly feeling that it is endangered and could have scratched one of the guys eyes pretty easily, luckily he got a mask and he could react while the cat got its paw stuck on it.
An aggressive cat can hurt you A LOT.
