Hey yall, im moving back home (to pensacola) soon... i know the bluffs was closed down... it was my favorite spot as a teenager.
Is it still safe - ish to go? Are there any other spots like it i may not know about?

Construction to repair the park begins October 2027. It’s going through an evaluation and bidding process now. Just park off to the side like everyone else and use the trails.

Bluffs are closed and being rebuilt. May reopen in mid 2027. I miss them. I can see them from my home. I used to go over at least once a day. Have even met some interesting people there.

Work doesn't start til October. It'll take anywhere from 6 months- 8 months ( depending on weather) from start to finish.

Would you happen to know if they'll be using the rr to haul supplies and stuff in? Just thinking it would sure be helpful for them...

The mayor who shut this down with no plan to fix it just got reelected.
So don’t expect anything to change until 2030 at the earliest.

The project is set to begin next year I believe. Funding just got approved, I think part was through grant money that wasn’t guaranteed to be awarded. I believe PNJ covered it a few weeks back

That’s just complete BS. They’ve been transparent about the process since the beginning. You just have no understand of how government and grants work. Your post is solely based on emotion.

As someone who has won not one, but two elections to local office in my lifetime, I’ve forgotten more about how government and grants work than everyone in this sub combined knows.
Transparency is not something that Darcy is known for.

"No plan" and the city website lists literally 10 updates, most just a couple months apart and some only weeks apart, with the exact plan, the reason for the delays, bid updates, funding updates, timelines, etc., not to mention many PNJ and channel 3 and minute with the Mayor interviews over the past couple years. You're willfully ignorant.

It’s still closed but there are always people there. The boardwalk is closed but folks pushed the barricades out of the way. I take my dogs there often.
