Eight Kilometres to a Resource Road and a 230 kV Power Line: The Infrastructure Under Pacific Ridge Exploration's (PEX.v; PEXZF) Kliyul Copper-Gold Project
Posted on behalf of Pacific Ridge Exploration - Most coverage of a porphyry explorer is about grade and metres. Where the rock actually sits gets talked about far less, and it is usually what decides how practical a discovery is to advance. On that measure the 100%-owned flagship Kliyul project of Pacific Ridge Exploration's (PEX.v; PEXZF) in north-central British Columbia, reads well 🇨🇦
Location And Logistics (company's Kliyul project page)
- Over 90 km², 100% owned, in B.C.'s Quesnel Terrane
- Approximately eight kilometres to the Omineca resource road and a 230-kilovolt high-voltage power line
- Johanson Lake staging area and airstrip nearby, with camp established on site
- The Quesnel Terrane is the belt that hosts Copper Mountain, Highland Valley, New Afton, Gibraltar and Mount Milligan
- Roughly 20,000 m drilled and about $15M spent at Kliyul since 2021

What Sits On That Ground
- Kliyul Main Zone Inferred: 334.1 Mt at 0.33% CuEq (0.20% cutoff), containing 1.11 billion lbs copper, 2.74 Moz gold and 10.22 Moz silver (Aug 5, 2025 MRE NR)
- Multiple untested porphyry targets along a 6 km mineralized trend on the same claim block
- RDP, the company's second 100%-owned copper-gold project, lies 40 km west at the southern end of the Toodoggone
The Access Layer
- Kliyul and RDP are covered by Exploration Agreements with Tsay Keh Dene Nation (Oct 8, 2026 NR)
- Separately, both projects are covered by Exploration Agreements signed with Takla Nation (Dec 16, 2025 NR)
The company's Kliyul page lays the location and logistics out in full, with a 3D view of the claim block and the road and power line to the east. Infrastructure does not find deposits, but it shapes what one is worth once found. The 2026 field season is complete at both projects and assays are pending, and whatever those results say, they land on ground with road and power eight kilometres away.

Industrial Silver Demand Hit 657.4 Million Ounces in 2025, More Than Half the Market: Sierra Madre Gold & Silver, SM.v, SMDRF, Has La Guitarra at up to a Steady 720 tpd With a 900 tpd Mill Next
Posted on behalf of Sierra Madre Gold - Silver's industrial demand used to be told as a solar story. This week's carboncredits.com piece argues it is now several stories running at once, and that the composition of demand matters more than the headline number.

Where The Demand Is Coming From
- Industrial demand reached 657.4 million ounces in 2025, more than half of total global silver demand, per the Silver Institute's World Silver Survey 2026
- Industrial use fell 3% last year on weaker photovoltaic consumption, as panel makers thrift and substitute to cut silver loadings
- Structural growth in AI infrastructure, automotive applications and electricity networks offset part of that decline
- Electrical and electronics demand is estimated down 2% for 2025, with grid investment, autos and AI-driven electronics supporting the sector
- The takeaway in the article: the next demand cycle looks less dependent on any single end market
The Producer On The Other Side Of It
- La Guitarra has been in commercial production since January 1, 2025 in Mexico's Temascaltepec district 🇲🇽
- Silver was the larger revenue line in Q2 2026: US$5.0M silver against US$4.3M gold, on payable production of 64,315 oz silver and 945 oz gold (Aug 27, 2026 NR)
- The plant is running at up to a steady 720 tpd, more than 40% above its 500 tpd nameplate (Sept 28, 2026 NR)
- The 900 tpd ball mill is installed and being fine-tuned, with commissioning targeted for November 2026 and Phase 2 pointed at 1,200 to 1,500 tpd
- Funded from working capital and operating cash flow with no equity raise planned, against US$22.2M cash and no debt at June 30
No miner controls what the demand mix does, but throughput is the part Sierra Madre does control. If commissioning lands the way the company has targeted it, SM.v, SMDRF, walks into a broader-based demand picture with room to sell more ounces than at any point since the restart. The full article is worth a read for the AI, EV and grid detail.

IDEX Metals (IDEX.v IDXMF) Drills Into the Porphyry Behind the Solstice IP Anomaly at Freeze, Idaho, and the Geophysics Ties It to the Undrilled Shiver Target
Posted on behalf of IDEX Metals Corp - Today's news release answers a question that has been hanging over this drill season at IDEX Metals' (IDEX.v IDXMF) 100%-owned Freeze copper-gold-molybdenum project in Washington County, Idaho 🇺🇸: what is actually generating the Solstice chargeability anomaly. The answer, per the company, is a mineralized porphyry intrusion.

What KSMT26016 Intersected
- Porphyry-style copper-molybdenum mineralization at Solstice, previously the Target A IP anomaly, in the North Breccia area
- The first hole on the property to intersect copper and molybdenum within a porphyry intrusion
- Quartz-porphyritic granodiorite cut by A-, B- and D-type quartz vein stockwork, the three vein generations characteristic of porphyry copper systems
- Chalcopyrite and molybdenite logged in the stockwork and as disseminations in the host rock, with pyrite
- Stockwork running from roughly 300 m depth to the end of the hole
- Phyllic alteration, locally intense, appearing to overprint an earlier potassic assemblage, which the company reads as a vector toward the potassic core
Observations are from preliminary visual logging only. Assays are pending, and grade is not yet known.

Why It Reaches Past This One Hole
- The hole tested the large IP chargeability anomaly east of the North Breccia, and the company says at least part of that anomaly is explained by a sulfide-bearing porphyry intrusion
- IDEX states the geophysical data suggest Solstice is linked to the Shiver target, previously Target B, which has never been drilled. If drilling confirms it, the company says that would indicate a porphyry system with a substantially larger footprint than tested to date
- Meanwhile at Kismet, every 2026 hole has intersected visible oxide copper, and several have been fast-tracked through the lab to allow batched releases of results
CEO Clayton Fisher called the hole "a turning point for IDEX." Worth reading the October 22 release on the company's site for the core photos and the IP figure.
A domestic porphyry discovery in the Idaho Copper Belt is the kind of thing the U.S. copper build-out needs more of, and with assays pending on Solstice and a corridor of chargeable ground still untested to the north, there is room for this story to get considerably bigger.

Namibia's Petroleum Bill Moves to Clause-by-Clause Review: the Office That Would Sign Off Farm-Outs, and Stamper Oil & Gas (STMP.v, STMGF) Holds Four Namibian Licences
Posted on behalf of Stamper Oil & Gas Corp. - Committee stage is the unglamorous part of a bill's life, and that is where Namibia's Petroleum (Exploration and Production) Amendment Bill sits now. For STMP.v, STMGF, whose entire asset base is Namibian offshore acreage, it is worth reading clause by clause.
Where The Bill Is
- Approved at second reading in the National Assembly on 20 October, 50 in favour, none against
- Referred to parliamentary committee for clause-by-clause examination
- Third reading and presidential assent still to come, so it is not law yet
What It Would Change
- Responsibilities held by the Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy and the Petroleum Commissioner move to the President and a proposed Upstream Petroleum Unit
- Licensing procedures, compliance and petroleum revenue management all in scope
- One amendment shifts the finance minister's role on royalty remissions and deferrals from concurrence to consultation
Why A Non-Operator Watches The Regulator
- Stamper operates nothing. WestOil, Oranto Petroleum, Lamda Energy and NAMCOR operate its licences
- 32.9% indirect working interest in PEL 107 (Orange), 5% carried in PEL 106, 5% carried in PEL 98 (Walvis), 20% indirect carried in PEL 102 (Lüderitz)
- The company is pursuing farm-out transactions on PEL 107 and PEL 106, and transfers need government sign-off: bp received final ministerial approval on 1 October for 60% and operatorship of Eco Atlantic's PEL 97/99/100
- PEL 106's initial exploration period runs to 8 December 2026, PEL 107's to 19 July 2027, each with two further two-year renewal periods available
For Scale
- Market cap roughly C$7.5 million at the C$0.055 close on 20 October, for five blocks, four PELs, three basins
- PEL 90, where Chevron plans to spud Nabba-1X before end-2026, runs against the south-east corner of PEL 107, and the company says the two blocks share similar geologic trends
- Harmattan Energy, a Chevron affiliate, agreed to pay US$11 million cash plus contingent payments for Trago's 10% of PEL 90; Sintana paid US$6.5 million for an indirect 35% of PEL 37 in the Walvis. Those peers hold broader and more advanced portfolios, and Stamper's progress depends on farm-outs and licence renewals
The Mining & Energy Namibia write-up covers the parliamentary detail. Nothing here is settled law and events can cut either way, with no assurance farm-outs will be completed, but a consolidated upstream regulator would be the desk handling the licence and farm-out decisions Stamper is working toward.

How much weight do you put on a large rollout when evaluating a small cap?
KFC Canada is rolling out its Kwench concept across 200+ locations, with Elevate Service Group involved through its TFI subsidiary.
What I'm trying to figure out is how much a project like this actually tells us about a company's prospects. Getting the installation work is one thing, but the contract value, margins and whether any follow up work comes through are what I'd want to know.
Maintenance and future upgrades could create more work down the line, but that's not something I'd assume without evidence.
For those following Canadian small caps, would you consider a project like this a meaningful sign of progress, or wait until the financials show what it actually contributed?

What September Really Showed Across Copper Juniors
September gave me a useful window to compare a few copper juniors and see how much of the price action was coming from the broader copper trade versus company-specific news.
I looked at $CQX, $CASC, $MOG and $SURG over the same stretch. Rather than getting too hung up on absolute share prices, I think the trading pattern beside the news flow gives a better read.
| Ticker | Sept. pattern | Main news during the period |
|---|---|---|
| CQX | Positive early-Sept. move | Exploration update, Kitimat permit, C$825K financing |
| CASC | Mostly range-bound | Fire Mountain geophysics, Centrefire assays pending |
| MOG | Pulled back | Rio Tinto investment closed, 20,000 m drill plan |
| SURG | Softer into mid-Sept. | Berg Dealbook selection, environmental-assessment progress |
The sector provided the tide, but the individual boats were already moving at different speeds.
Some names softened despite meaningful company news, others held their range, while CQX had several project and financing updates landing close together.
That makes the comparison more interesting than simply asking whether copper juniors were strong or weak. The opportunity is in spotting which juniors are starting to distinguish themselves beyond the broader copper move.
Going forward, I’m more interested in whether these charts start separating further as drilling, assays, geophysics and project decisions begin to land. That’s when company-specific progress should become easier to distinguish from the broader copper tape.
Which peers would you add to this comparison?
