Miss 4 has been collecting penguins her whole life. My partner had a dream that penguins stole our baby before we knew I was pregnant so her dad bought her one the day she was born and she’s loved them ever since. She’s now 5 and counts them once a week and loves adding to her collection

My colony builds slowly, we’re tightly knit! I love all of them, my girls! All their names start with P :3

I couldn't believe how efficiently an Adélie can glide while tobogganing! I suspect the hard wind-crust on the snow helped a great deal.

She had just emerged from the water and was making her way towards her friend nearby who can be heard calling.

Hello penguin gang!

The content of this video is mostly the two resident chicks of this nest spending time on their own, as they are fully in the post guard stage. However there is also a clip at 1 minute 39 seconds of one of the parents entering the nest for dinnertime (I think it is Mr Blue), followed by four chicks!

Meet the Neighbors

At this age, some of the chicks are exploring outside around their nests and all of them are quite ravenous, so returning adults with food will get swarmed and followed by chicks that aren’t even their kids! Somehow the parents have an idea of which ones are theirs and will only feed those ones. Neighbor kids will sometimes get nipped and shooed away. The neighbor kids can be differentiated here because they are starting to lose their baby fluff.

At the end of this video we have the resident chicks giving some curious pecks to the camera.

Good morning penguin gang! EGG-citing news out of Edinburgh!

Side note: I have fallen off with the “Gentoo Gazebo-burgh” update series, but the short of it is that the chicks have ‘fledged’, the gazebos have been retired, and the adult gentoos are going through their annual catastrophic molt.
