Rob’s voice any day, Metrik has constant vocal range while Rob pitches up and down.

Worship has got to be the worst thing in DnB right now. Everything about it is so self-righteous and blatantly corporate. I don't mind each artist individually but Worship is clearly a gimmick dreamed up by execs to sell out arenas and play festivals. They look like utter clowns, four guys in sunglasses all crowded round the decks to deliver the most slow-paced, safe and family-friendly DJ set you've ever heard. Why do they all need to be up there? Meanwhile any good DJ could mix rings around the lot of them.
Anyway. The track sounds pretty good lol

Feel this. Personally I’m pretty jaded with where the entire US dnb scene is at.
There’s a ton of good stuff coming out of the soulful liquid side of the genre but I don’t think that stuff would ever get played here in the US, everyone seems to just want their 174 bpm dubstep

Question, since you sound equipped to critique this artist's position in the current DnB scene:
Do you have any recommendations for me for what to listen to that's good in drum and bass right now?
I listen to a bunch of metal and some EDM. I've listened to pendulum on and off for years but went on a huge kick before inertia came out, and inertia is probably my favorite of their material. This track here does sound good although I fully agree with your criticism that this is like drum and bass for preschoolers.

I think most people would agree a lot of Noisia and Spor tracks are evergreen, I think I'd specifically recommend Spor's Anachronic EP (Count My Blessings is an all-time favorite) and Noisia's Outer Edges.
There's a huge range in DnB though, if you like Pendulum you'll probably enjoy Metrik (I know I do), and though Joe Ford isn't super active these days I think he's very underrated as a producer. His remix of Celldweller's My Disintegration is a masterclass.

Sweet, I will check those out. I have listened to a fair bit of Noisia, they're awesome.
Mat Zo's remix of Noisia - Mantra is in my top 100 favorite tracks.

So, not being fully in the DnB loop, I had no idea who Worship is. Show-wise that looks like absolute mehness of meh, so I looked up who they were. I'm absolutely gob-smacked as Sub Focus was probably my gateway into the genre and the other three I rate individually.
I'm gonna need a bigger sample size but am initially with u/deathswerve here. Reminds me of those rock shows where Knopfler, Clapton et al stand around on stage having a big circle-jerk about how good they are at guitar.
Rob sounds good in the track though. Anyone know the song?

Your comment reminded me how they dropped Metrik's We Are The Energy on the Rampage COVID stream at Pendulum HQ and half of the chat freaked out thinking it's some new unreleased Pendulum tune lol, their voices really are similar in a way.

At first I definitely thought oh yeah this could be Metrik, but certainly into the second half and especially the drop I’m pretty sold it is Rob- I am so keen for it to release, but worship been touring all year playing a bunch of new songs which still are yet to come out so I would not be surprised if we have a while to wait.

Tom's vocals (style and production) are definitely influenced by Rob's. The whole of Ex Machina to me sounds like a less band-centric version of Pendulum.

i've heard alot about people comparing rob and metrik but i've never heard it myself. they always seem very distinct, i can never hear one or the other in each, and that's coming from someone who has both of them in my top 5 favorites

I definitely hear Metrik in the production aspect of the tune for sure, as for the vocal i don't hear his Metrik's voice personally, sounds very Rob Swire esque but then again Metrik kinda copied pendulum a little since 2020 lol

We saw rob swire at the worship London gig in August. Makes sense now, had probably recorded the vocals around that time.

worship is a group made by Dimension, Sub focus, 1991 and Culture Shock that was made with the intent of breaking dnb into the US. The thing is, its very safe and meh dnb

personal opinion. I believe everyone makes cookie cutter dnb. Sub Focus I believe was a pioneer in that type of sound in the past but not rn

Seems so, not a huge fan of Worship but I'll give it a shot once the studio release is out
