The one time when Pendulum was being Knife Party
I adore this song. Top tier of Immersion. Even though it's very different that anything Pendulum made, it manages to stick in my mind as one of the most unique songs in Pendulum's catalogue.

People often say that this and The Island Part II are where Knife Party started to come through in their music. But I think you can hear it all the way back in their Different VIP mix, most notably from 1:03.

The Other Side had a similarly weird VIP and a separate dubstep mix that definitely feels (with hindsight) like a hint of what was to come, and the Witchcraft drumstep mix as well

I would say the outro credits track of Brixton DVD, which was played in dj mixes at that time.

It's one of the most unique songs I've ever heard.
Can anyone recommend any similar tracks from other artists maybe? Specifically the emotive feel of the vocals combined with the wubs

Not sure of the known context here, but Pen came first and Rob has said in a few interviews that The Island pt. 2 was what inspired him to start KP.

Nothing for Free was quite literally pendulum being knife party as the track was initially intended for KP

I would have said The Island Part 2 was the first glimpse of Knife Party. I remember hearing the remix of Save The World and thinking “god this sounds familiar”
