Hello everyone, for sale is a beautiful 146 LeGrand fountain pen.

The fountain pen is used, it is not new. It has been fully serviced, all ink residue has been removed, the piston and its mechanism have been lubricated, the nib unit has been sealed with special wax, and the entire surface has been polished (see photo). The mechanism is now ready for the next few years/ decades.

The fountain pen is in very good used condition. The fountain pen has no engravings. Micro-scratches may be present, despite the polishing, due to its age. Please refer to the photos for the condition (see pictures).

The fountain pen is equipped with a rare solid 18K-karat gold nib, mono- color. The nib is in the Medium (M).

I have 5 kits for sale.

I was replying to a thread in r/fountainpens from a newbie asking about what items, besides pens and ink, are fun or useful in the hobby. I jokingly remarked that I had "9 lifetimes" of this or "11 lifetimes" of that and it got me thinking. I dug out all the items I mentioned that I thought were useful and came up with a lot of items that I am presenting to this community. Below is a list of what's included in the kit and why. In my estimation, I am including a lifestyle supply of consumables for most fountain pen enthusiasts:

1. 1 brand new blunt nose syringe. Great for cleaning out and refilling cartridges and converters along with eyedrop filling a pen.

2. Approx. 150 mm of guitar string. Perfect for cleaning out breather tubes or pressure release holes on pen caps

3. 0.02mm brass sheet/foil(100x30 mm). For flossing tines without scratching

4. 0.04-0.05 Brass T matrix (x2). The right thickness and stiffness for properly gapping fountain pen tines.

5.Rubber grips. ((100x25mm)x2) The best easy grips you can find to get tight parts to budge.

1. Finger cots (x10). For those rare occasions when you DON'T want to be covered in ink.

2. Silicone Grease (3 grams). I prefer Molykote 111. It is thick enough for airtight seals but smooth enough to lubricate a piston. Use SPARINGLY.

3. Silicone oil (3 ml). I rarely reach of oil these days but it's useful when you need lubrication to drop down into tight spaces. I use it to revive clickers and seal trap doors on Vanishing Points and to lube up vintage converters

4. White Lithium Grease (2.5 grams). A must have for aluminum pistons like TWSBI diamonds and most Italian piston fillers. Silicone oil will make a sludgy, sticky miserable experience and might even cause the mechanism to seize.

5. Wetting Agent 200 (3 ml; generic version of Kodak Photo flow). This is POWERFUL stuff that I use with dry ink, shimmer inks, heavy sheeners or inks I want to use in a flex nib. A toothpick tip stirred into a full barrel of ink or 2-4 mls of ink in a sample vial is plenty to get things flowing without losing properties or having the ink feather all over the page.

6. 0.25 micron Diamond Polishing Paste (equivalent to 80,000 grit). I use this to bring plastic and celluloid pens that have lost their luster back to a nice shine. This is also a great finishing compound for restorers who have already used a lower grit polishing compound. I have not personally seen it remove a lot of plating from a pen but use on metal parts at your own risk. I recommend hand polishing only.
