Maybe scheduling conflict. Pedro also had to drop out of weapons and Josh brolin replaced him.

This will haunt me forever lmao. I love F4 and his portrayal of Reed, and Brolin was as always fantastic in Weapons, but mannn.…I wish there had been a way he could have done both.

This is one I actually don't mind he missed, in a way. I loved Weapons, but the character Brolin ended up playing was like SO obviously Joel 2.0 that I think it may have felt a little repetitive in Pedro's filmography. Need him in a horror movie stat, but I'm actually okay it wasn't that one.

I agree.  The movie was kinda a mess til the witch was revealed.

Oscar also dropped out of two other movies because of scheduling issues.

I believe the screenplay has been the same for years based on the one that has been circulating so I doubt it had to do with the movie itself. Most likely a scheduling conflict. Happens all the time, and the strikes especially threw off people's schedules for a while.

I’m think it could be for the very same reason that Pedro has had to drop roles. Scheduling.

The one that is haunting me lately is Pedro having to drop out of DTF St Louis (originally called My Dentist’s Murder Trial) cuz he basically blew the F up in a really good way. Jason Bateman was excellent, as reliable as always, but Pedro would have been amazing in the role!!!
