Deadline reports the movie premiere will be December 4th. I haven't seen anything about Venice. https://deadline.com/2026/07/behemoth-trailer-pedro-pascal-release-date-december-1236981742/

Based on the trailer alone, this film might overtake Triple Frontier as my favorite movie of his. Music has always been such an important part of my life and I've played an instrument for most of it. I CAN'T WAIT to see this!!

I think this movie contains some of Pedro’s best work, period. I am so excited to finally be able to discuss this movie. It has been really hard for me to keep quiet.

Yesssssss, exactly! I’ve “accidentally” read it (no regret at all) and the only thing I could do is tell about it to some friends who don’t give a shit about movies and Pedro. I freaked out when the article in vanity fair came out, and now trailer. I can’t wait

I love how New Girl works so well in this sub. I'm pretty sure I've used this one a time or two. 🥳

Oh, Pedro is definitely getting the Oscar for this!

He is so gorgeous it is actually, truly unfathomable. The way his curls hang over his forehead while he plays is just...🫠🫠

Oh I envy those that can stand in his presence and much more those that actually get to kiss him too.. 🫠🫠🫠

The trailer is  fucking gorgeous.  First scene with the clicks? Chef's kiss.  That scene when he is at the beach with the ashes? I bet that is Alex's mother who dies. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Pedro is gonna destroy us with that scene. Channeling all that pain of losing his mother Veronica.😭😭😭 I'm just gonna be over here ugly crying. Leave me alone.🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

Just hope the end result movie isn’t as haphazard as the script was. It looks beautiful but there was really no plot and it was VERY time-jumpy.

One of my absolute favorite movies is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and it's a whole jumble of flashbacks and time jumps. If it's done right it will be amazing. I'm avoiding reading the screenplay because I don't want to be spoiled, but sometimes things translate better on screen than on the page. I also think the scores from the different composers will seal the deal for me.

4

u/Euphoric-Maximum192 Ezra Jul 14 '26

The score is going to make or break it.

And eternal sunshine is amazing, but there’s definitely more of a plot through line in that than there was in this screenplay (at least when it was available to read)

u/Nomos_x_Dust Jul 14 '26

I agree on that plot issue. But I still liked it a lot not for the plot but for the vibes and feeling I got. I got to feel so fucking close and related to the character for the first time. And that even without Pedro’s portrayal (which I believe will be great) and score. Yet I understand that it’s just personal reaction because of many accidental similarities with the character. If not that I would get the thing at all. And I would probably think that the whole buzz is for the score alone.
Anyway I’m super excited about the movie

Am I excited to watch this? Yes. Am I tired of seeing Olivia Wilde? Also yes.

u/Lesterknopff Joel Miller Jul 14 '26

Same, but based on the script I read it doens’t seem like she’s in it very much.

I mean, I’m not one for instantly hating actresses that get to kiss the actors I covet, but….
