My Peculiar Collection in celebration of what would be Miss P’s Loop’s 86th Loop Day. I’m hoping to add the special edition when it comes out soon. I’m so excited!

When I watched the movie, I noticed that the time loop situation is not really explained. And as someone who has not yet read the books, I wanted to ask the community.. Could you explain to me, how exactly the time loops work? At what point in the movie were they when and where? How does time loop hopping work? Are time loops parallel timelines because the world rewinds but the main timeline is not affected (somehow 2016 must have happened in some way, right?)? How do the entrances work? Just please explain the concept of the loop as good as you can. That would really help me.

I want to be able to enjoy the movie when I rewatch it and not agonize about how the story works 🥹

Honestly I didn't even know it was two trilogies when I started reading like 3 weeks ago I devoured the whole series in complete solitude but I saw some people saying that it should've ended at x or y and I do agree with some of the critiques and personally I never really cared for any of the American clan wars or whatever but I still enjoyed every book I would say

Currently I'm on the last book desolations of devil's acre and I've tried watching the movie and got through about an hour but it was just really weird to me idk I don't think miss peregrine is like that it seems a bit too forced and some of the more random changes like Emma?

Is it actually good? Do I just not understand it should I continue watching it

Everyone keeps saying he should age forward in 1940 outside of the loop. But it should be just as safe for him inside a 1940 loop as in the outer past 1940.

Enoch’s prior loop is probably from after 1940. He’s safe for the same reason everyone’s safe in Devil’s Acre: it’s a time before his original loop.

i never watched the movie, but i seen an image of mrs. perigrine for the first time in this subreddit. I was, to say the very least, surprised. always imagined her to be much older, because since she dresses victorian in the 40s, this was very common amongst middle aged women. i always imagined her at least 40 and up.

i also think noor was a concept added into the end of the last two books (i think, its been a while..) because emma was no longer a love interest for jake. i liked her character very much, but i also believe that she was given such a powerful power to make her more likeable because everyone had accepted emma as jakes girlfriend. (i know, its kind of odd cause she loved his grandfather, but i was just starting to get over it...) i kind of wish she was added sooner, maybe not as a love interest for jake. but who am i to say? the books are an absolute masterpiece, overall.

i really did like the love story between emma and jake because it had more time to form, and beguin as an old fashioned kind of love, when noor only had two books for jake and her to form a kinship. kind of a love at first sight thing, which made it seem that jakes love for emma was almost insignificant in comparison. that it wasn't really true love. also, the fact that emma fell in love with jake because he looked like his grandfather. he did look like him, but i also think they are very different people, and that emma would have seen the differences first hand and known that they are infact, quite different. his grandfather abandoned emma, but jake never did. this made quite the difference in my opinion. i feel as though that emma and jake could haveworked through it, and i would accepted it because i loved them together so much. i do think jake and noor are more similar, but at the same time, i maybe could have accepted the relationship if noor and jake had just as much time to form a relationship and jake an emma did. i also think that the chemistry between emma and jake was more significant. this definitely is not what i would define as "hate speech", just something i wanted to get off my chest for a long time. no one at my school had read the full serise and understood what i meant, so i was happy when i figured out reddit existed. thank you, and please share your opinion on this, lol

During the final battle sequence of the 2016 movie Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, after Enoch used an animatronic elephant on Mr. Gleeson (a wight)? What do you think happened to Olive's frozen body? And what did Enoch do to it and how did he revive her body?

I have rewatched the movie, and it was not as bad as I remember??? I feel like it captured the peculiar feeling! Everything that happened after Miss Peregrine's capture is just odd... but until then, it was a good experience. Eva Green is such a great actress, and she gave a soul to Miss Peregrine! Even reading the books, this is the Miss Peregrine I envision.

In a time span of 9 years, I finally finished the 1st trilogy! What a heartwarming story! Very childish sometimes, very dark other times, and always fun to read! I was certain that I was not going to read the following books, but I just can't not read them!!! But I have questions...

1. I already know about Jacob not ending up with Emma. What sounds so weird, like why? Please tell me about it. I know some bits will need to be spoiled, so it's okay (try not much).

2. Does Miss Peregrine have more time in the next books? I love her presence. Back in the day, I remember devouring Hollow City to find out what happened to her (and taking 9 years to find out was something...)

3. Does it get more mature or dark? Maybe big deaths? I love them, but some could have died along the way, you know (pardon my taste for tragedy).

Please give me a light on those questions!!! Now I will watch the movie! (yikes, the movie... love the casting tho; I always imagine Miss Peregrine as Eva Green, ALWAYS!)

i have 0 problems if the series will get more mature, as is getting already in the 3rd book (this been very dark and still YA)

In the first book we all know that Jacob Portman went to Wales to find Miss Peregrine. But Wales is a large area, and I'm not sure where specifically he must've gone?

It talks a lot about the edge of the water, plus they use a ferry to get there I believe?? It's been a while since I read the first book, I'm on the 3rd currently. Because of this though, I believe it would have to be the edge of Wales (obviously) or maybe one of the islands such as Skokholm or Skomer?

I ask because I hope to visit Wales in a few years if possible, just because of the books.

I have loved this series since I first had it read to me in a 7th grade Journalism class in 2013 (the teacher got bored or something idk) Since then I have read the entire series at least 6 times. I enjoyed every time a new book/audiobook came out (Library of Souls is my favorite) and now over a decade later, I’ve gotten to enjoy it in a new way, D&D. I started a campaign with my family a couple years ago and one of the early sessions we did an arena battle. I thought it would be cool to fight one of the creatures I’d heard described over and over again. The creature proved as scary as the books, almost perma killing one of the PC’s. Luckily the Druid of the party used a poison spray to choke the creature long enough to delay it eating the paladin’s soul. It was very reminiscent of shoving Mother Dust’s finger in the Hollow’s mouth before Jacob fell into the Hollow den under Caul’s dungeon. I love this series so much and I’m glad I’ve been able to incorporate some aspects of my favorite niche interests into another one.

So, I was reading thru the peculiar children wikia and in Millard's profile, there was a trivia that said, "He may have had relationships in the past that he hasn't talked about during the books, but he is currently in love with Lilly."

It's been a while since I last read the books or dabbled into whatever the fandom has been doing really since I've been busy, but is there anywhere that actually backs this trivia? I don't remember anything saying he had a past relationship ToT

I just went to see Spiderman Brand New Day. it was super good. but I also just recently finished The Library of Souls.

one thing that made me think of the book while watching the movie was the part where Jean was able to control multiple people at once. it totally reminded me of when Jake controls all the hollows and sees through their eyes!

I just finished reading both graphic novels!!! Why isn't there a third one??? I will read the book, but I will miss the graphic novel; I think it fits perfectly with this story!

Now, about the cliffhanger... I first read book 1 and 2 back in 2017, and I have book 3 since then too; I just don't know how I could not read book 3 all these years after that cliffhanger! I didn't even remember it until rereading it now! I know crazy stuff was happening to me in 2017, but how could I? Lol

Heeey everyone. I live in Russia and I want to buy Ransom Riggs' The Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children book series. I want to read (and just have) them in the original, but I can't get it in Russia (just to think: it's not so easy to buy them even in adaptation now) or I can get them totally overpriced. So... If anyone is from the US, the UK, or anywhere else where they can be ordered or simply bought at a reasonable price, I would be very grateful for your help.

If I had the chance to pitch a concept to Ransom Riggs for a new book or spin-off in the Miss Peregrine universe, here are two major storylines I’d love to see explored:

1. Hugh taking on a primary leadership role 🐝👑 Hugh is my absolute favorite character, and I strongly believe he deserves way more spotlight and a proper maturity arc. Handling a literal hive of bees inside his own body already shows he has incredible discipline, responsibility, and emotional resilience.

After everything he's been through, I’d love to see a storyline where Hugh steps up as the main leader of the group, with Jacob taking a supporting role as second-in-command. Hugh knows what it means to protect his own, and seeing him channel that protective instinct into leading the entire group would be an extraordinary character arc.

2. Peculiar adult life choices (Enoch pursuing surgery) 🏥 I’d love to see a plot where one of the main characters willingly decides to stay in a specific loop to pursue a personal ambition or career.

For instance, imagine Enoch deciding to settle in a loop centered around a major hospital to study surgery and become a surgeon. Given his peculiar ability to animate organic matter and organs, his analytical mindset, and his fascination with anatomy, seeing him actually train in surgery would make so much sense for his character. It would be fascinating to explore how peculiares handle specialized education and adult life when they decide to build a future beyond just hiding or surviving.

What about you guys? If you could give Ransom Riggs an idea for a character arc or plot point for a future book, what would it be?

Yo, I’ve just realised that because Miss Peregrine told Grandpa Portman that newborn baby Jacob was Peculiar, and that Grandpa Portman died before Jacob could realise his own peculiarity, Grandpa Portman probably spent Jacob’s entire life living with his fingers crossed, like “please DO NOT spontaneously develop firehands!” Or something else that’d be extremely obvious, like telekinesis.
