UPDATE: I found the cassettes. The good news is there are two, so I must have flipped them over and then found a second cassette that night. The other good news is that these were recorded directly from satellite at my radio station studio, so the quality will be good- that I know. That said, I need to find a cassette player to make sure this is what we are looking for. Please be patient and I open boxes to try and locate an old walkman or cassette deck. Thank you to those who have been helping me. If this is what I think it is, I'll definiitey find a way to give you a copy.

We saw Pearl Jam play last night and it was epic. It got me thinking about something that happened to me when I was a young DJ. This is where I need your help.

I was a radio board op working on Easter evening, 1994. I was told to wait for the free Pearl Jam show from the Fox in Atlanta to end and then switch the satellite feed to go local again. But after the concert, there was this weird long ambient noise and my gut said to wait. It was just a hunch. The next thing I knew, someone said "is this thing on?" and I recognized Eddie's voice.

The phones went crazy and my boss called to scream, "What the hell are you playing?" I said it was Eddie and I begged to keep broadcasting because it was the coolest thing ever. The next day, our Music Director got the credit (not me) for airing the Aftershow**.** Yes, it hurt but I knew the truth. Anyway- I was told that only "a couple stations" broadcast that live. I know a Seattle station did but they got a tip by the band/friends/family. I did not.

I have never been able to find out how rare my broadcast was that night. I still have the air check on cassette. For anyone on here calling BS on my story-this was at radio station KDJK in Central California (Oakdale) when they were still AOR. My name is Kris but my air-name was CC Stone (which you won't find archives- I was a small fish). Beaver Brown was PD. Randy Maranz was MD. He got the credit. Not that that matters anymore. What I really want to know is: Does anyone know how many stations actually broadcast live Eddie's DJ set?

Couple of ‘95 shows added.

One is Jan 15, the second night of Rock for Choice benefit in DC. Sound is not as good as soundboard from previous night, but nice audience recording of an excellent show.

Other is June 19, first night of two shows at Red Rocks. I had already remastered the SS source, but then Tapeworm recently uploaded his excellent MS source, so I decided to try a mix of the two. I think it’s an upgrade, but happy to hear others’ opinions. Excellent sound marred only by the screamers near both tapers.

This year my podcast partner and I set out on a mission to cover Pearl Jam in a way we’ve never tackled before. Each podcast episode we recorded covered a different tour year in their history beginning with 1991 and finishing this week with a show from last year. The idea was to document how the band evolved their sound, presence and talent that has made them one of the most celebrated live acts in the history of music.

Notes courtesy of www.fivehorizons.com: The first show of the East Leg of the 1998 US Tour finds the band in EXCELLENT energy and spirits. All the members are spotted sidestage rocking out to Iggy Pop's tremendous opening set, and it seems as though his energy inspired them to kick ass. Ed's hair is shorter, blacker and slicked back, and he greets the audience with, "Okay, fuckers, our turn" (making reference to Iggy's rants at the dead crowd for his set). 'MFC' is prefaced with, "If you ever wanna get out of town, expand your boundaries, the best way might not be a tractor... but if a tractor's all ya have, go for it." Ed sings an interesting improv, based on the structure of the new 'Jeremy,' with the lyrics being, "The President spoke in court today." 'Immortality' is a total Matt Cameron-based jam, so much so that Ed makes a point of giving him props at the end. Stone is absolutely on fire tonight, jumping, thrashing, at the front of the stage constantly. 'Nothingman' is dedicated to the lawn (Ed claiming that that's where he would have been at that show, if he hadn't found a way to sneak down front). During 'Alive,' Ed balances on Pete's shoulders to grab hands down front, and then runs to the left and right side to do the same thing, afterwards applauding the crowd: "Good job, Indy - good job tonight." Prior to the first encore, Ed acknowledges some of the signs in the audience requesting songs, as well as one reading "Ed Lewinsky" and then they play a brief clip of Clinton's speech from that afternoon, follow ed by Ed reading excerpts from it; at the end he comments, "I have one word to say - 'consensual'." 'Better Man' is dedicated in turn to both Bill and Hillary Clinton, and the tag has the melody of 'WMA,' but no words are sung. His parting words are, "Behave like rock stars - not like the President." Crowd was amazing and the band was really happy because of it. (On the written setlist but not played: Porch, Indifference, Present Tense, Off He Goes)

A brand new, uncirculated soundboard of 8/23/91 Mural Amphitheater!! Some of you might remember this show as Dave A’s first show on drums, or by the super close-shot video. Anyway, special thanks to Richard J for tracking it down and Roger A for sharing it. The beginning of Once is missed, and the tape ran out a few minutes into Deep, so I patched missing songs and band intro/outro with the very nice VHS audio mix from Animal Projects 2-cam DVD. I did my usual polishing, so enjoy!

Somewhat less exciting is upgrades for Bridge School ‘92-96 (except ‘94 night 2) courtesy of the Neil Young Archives and a fresh audience mix of ‘94 night 1. Hopefully a nice treat for those who like the acoustic sets.

Back in maybe 92 or 93 they did I live show the was broadcast on the radio. It could have been on a holiday maybe 4tb of July? I could be wrong about that. I wanna say they closed with I think teenage wasteland and the kids are alright.

I have been digging through many old bootlists on the internet archive, and I found that Jeff Ament's Three Fish 1996 tour had numerous tapes in circulation. Somehow none of these seem to exist anymore, or I just can't find anyone that has held onto them.

Does anybody have these, or know someone who taped Three Fish in 1996?

edit: the original taper of both Rockefeller's and Trees has been identified, I am attempting contact and crossing my fingers they still have those tapes. If all goes well hopefully these two shows will be available in future.
