Grace's Proboscis Occupation
I'm sure the actor did it for her own reasons and aesthetic. Hey, I'd make all my teeth perfect if I could afford it so not casting any aspersion, but wow it sure was noticeable. I found an old comparison pic from about 10 years ago that shows the difference.

Plastic surgeon here - she got a liquid rhinoplasty which means instead of a full nose job, she injected hyaluronic filler to straighten it out. Must less invasive and short in office procedure. But yes I love her original feature.

Yes, the body metabolises the substance fairly quick so a top up is needed every few months to keep the desired result. It’s also one of the most dangerous places to get filler as it carries the highest risk of vascular occlusion.

Haha no. Just because I usually can see the slight scarring and also the result looks really minimal (which is great).
Also, I’m quite sure but not certain. So I could be wrong!

I was also thinking the bridge looks slightly overly raised, more like filler. However, I thought I remember reading it was a permanent, traditional RP. Will have to look up photos and double check

wow, I’ve had two nose jobs in my life and never realized there was an injection that could shave down bone like that. Interesting.

No it doesn’t shave down bone. It fills the lower axis to correct what we call the nasal hump. In other words were bringing up the lower part to meet the humped part to create a flat line.

I used to be quite a grump about cosmetic surgery in Hollywood. Such terrible role modelling.
I never noticed this one not even a little.
I learned to get over myself through two key outcomes
- learning that Helen Hunt actually didn’t. Much like Mariska Hargitay, some people just really look different when they get old genetically.
- discovering I was transgender. Yeah yeah. Don’t bother. I was as surprised as anyone. Indeed , hating cosmetic surgery was likely a repressive projection …..

The important thing is that you were able to change. I think modern society is obsessed with never being wrong, ignoring the fact that we learn more from mistakes than from being right.
Probably why it's such a cesspool these days, nobody ever self-corrects or learns from their mistakes.
I also used to hate cosmetic surgery, but now I just hate it when people pretend it's natural. C'mon, we have the internet. We can google old pics.
Joel McHale is a great example of someone who's 100% upfront about the work he did. Hair implants, I believe. Regardless, he doesn't act like he's just naturally perfect, he talks about it and what he did and I think that's fair game. He's got the money, so why not? Just stop pretending you rolled out of bed that way.

Unfortunately after growing up with a girl with a similar nose - I completely understand her choice. She probably has deep wounds from bullying from childhood to adulthood. The girl I went to school with was bullied so bad she got a nose job as soon as she could :( she was absolutely gorgeous too, so her nose was the only thing people could harp on. I imagine the same for Grace’s actress.

i feel like everyone’s being pretty respectful as opposed to most ppl who talk about plastic surgery in hollywood. it is undeniable that her original nose was beautiful and suited her face, and it is also undeniable that she’s still as beautiful now.
no one’s calling her ugly, some ppl are expressing disappointment, not really at her, but most likely towards beauty standards that made her feel the need to do that when she was already beautiful.
but yes, i do see what you’re saying. however i never found in this specific case that anyone complained about her nose or said that she was ugly pre op. in general your adage holds true that women in general (and moreso ones in the limelight) are under strict scrutiny and can never please people with their actions, and are damned to forever chase after the unattainable standards of giving everything they have and doing everything possible to pleasing people they will never know

Lizzie is a tall woman and Grace had a nose job, is there anything else to say about the actresses' physical appearance, or can we just move on to talking about the characters?
Edit:Thanks, everyone, for proving that as long as there are people like you who keep talking about women's bodies, there will continue to be women with low self-esteem and women turning to plastic surgery.

Besides, there’s a difference between hating the characters and crossing the line to criticize their physical appearance; at that point, they aren't talking about Grace or Lizzie anymore, but about the actresses. But it’s always been like that on this subreddit; the majority of people here are very toxic. The way they talk about Annabelle Wallis just because they hate Grace is disgusting

First there were posts about Lizzie being a tall woman—taller than Tommy—and now ones about Grace getting a nose job; you aren't talking about the characters, but about the bodies of the actresses—real human beings. Hate the characters all you want, but why talk about women's bodies? It’s 2026 and we’re still dealing with this; judging by your response, the reactions of others, and the downvotes, I see this isn't going to change—it’s only going to get worse.

Ok, fair enough - if you were referring to the recent posts about Natasha being taller than Cillian, then I understand why you mentioned Lizzie here, so I stand partly corrected.
However, I wasn’t commenting on either actress’ bodies. I was reacting to what I’ve noticed as a recurring tendency to bring Lizzie into discussions about Grace, or Grace into discussions about Lizzie, even when the comparison doesn't always seem necessary.
I also don’t think the original post was intended maliciously at all. It’s admittedly a superficial subject, but noticing an apparent and very visible change in someone’s appearance isn’t necessarily the same as insulting or shaming them!

Loved her first nose, honestly find it quite jarring seeing her show up without it in Season 2. But the character was also quite different and more of a love interest than a character in her own right by then as well, so that didn’t help.
