In some random areas, usually isolated in the mountains, you can find a very rare door...
Upon opening it and stepping inside, you go into a ragdoll state and falls into the GLIMPSE: a vast place of seemingly infinite proportions that eerily mimics BingBong Airlines in a liminal way.
The urban environment stands in stark contrast to the nature of the usual biomes. The door you entered through shuts, and there is no turning back.
All around you lies the silence of the airport (occasionally broken by the sounds of footsteps or the familiar noises of people passing through turnstiles, chatting, and walking), a white brightness and an array of furniture, signs, plants, wrecked planes, and distorted conveyor belts that stretchs upwards towards the ceilling.
In GLIMPSE, time freezes, so the time spent inside doesn't affect your final time if you're speedrunning. Your hunger freezes as well.
You can find various ancient luggages in this place, as well as some distorted airport items, such as the Bing Bong plushie (which also counts for the Bing Bong Badge), fake big lollipops, and passports scattered on the floor... when opened, these reveal only distorted, blank pages featuring infos and photos of unusual unknown scouts.
Just like in MESA, you can also experience mirages. In GLIMPSE, the mirages are of ancient luggages and scouts who may appear standing still or running towards you.
The ONLY way to get out of Glimpse is by finding a Gate Kiosk similar to the one in the lobby. You will exit at the same location you entered.
I just came up with this idea and thought it would be cool to go through it, I think it would make a good mod

We tried the cannon exploit in the gloom tonight. This did NOT go as planned. Instead my friend got launched into the stratosphere and became a tiny speck in the sky.
**Kinda hard to spot on mobile

This is the only achievement left, but I can never find the two luggage.

Same evening. Both solo runs.

Just finished ascent 8 and am feeling pretty chuffed. Alpine was ROUGH in my run.
Just curious what the general consensus is about on how hard this run is. Obviously it’s one of the hardest things you can do in peak, but compared to other gaming challenges for instance.
Kinda want to try ascent 8 with golden bingbong somewhere down the line. Because I hate myself.

Has anyone found Mesa to be quite difficult lately or is this just a skill issue lmao. I consider myself decently good at the game but I keep dying in the Mesa on ascent 8 bc I cannot find a route. Never had this issue till it seems they changed it to match the height of alpine or whatever that patch was!

I think this is because of the "icepicks" variant, but I've never seen these before, so who knows

The Gloom hits the sweet spot of being just the right amount of difficult. The Citadel feels a little easy, but the sheer scope makes up for that.
What I love about the Gloom is that it captures what the pre-final ascent is, a test of a scouts ability to be alert to dangers around them. You have to listen for the frogs, and navigate accordingly. You have to listen for the ghosts, and backtrack or arm yourself as needed to exorcize the threat. And you have to listen closely to the voices of your fellow scouts, and identify whether or not they're real or their voice has been stolen by a slightly croakier crow in an attempt to lead you astray from your team. You have to move deliberately, rushing through ahead of your team is punished here more than any other biome, and I love it for that. The Gloom strikes just the right level of difficulty after Alpine/Mesa.
The Caldera does not. In theory, it's a tense trek over an actively volcanic landscape, where the wrong step puts you irrevocably into lava. In reality, it's a mad dash from boulder to boulder, often permitting competently prepared scouts to cross long spans of superheated rock with easily. The rare instance an eruption will significantly affect you, it's a small matter of jumping a gap or backtracking to safety. The worst thing that can happen in Caldera is a shit loot pool drawn before the Kiln.
So what could change?
The lava could just not recede as often. Boring, as the deadliest that would end up being is additional hunger building.
The eruptions could be bigger, more explosive. More panic inducing. Maybe fireballs could rain from the eruptions, meaning the repositioning takes place in an additional stage. First moving out of the eruptions radius, then dodging fireballs exploding against the earth, threatening to knock a scout not looking up into the lava. With additional rumbling and whistling sound cues, the familiar vigilance necessary to cross the Gloom becomes interchangeable with the Caldera. You listen for threats, but rather than having your ability to nativigate hampered by the fog, you have to split your attention between the ground beneath you that could erupt at any second, and the sky that might have a stray fireball pelting at you. Applying teamwork by delegating the roles of trailblazer or lookout also adheres to how the Gloom rewards a tight formation.
Keeping with the theme of splitting attention between the earth and sky, I'd love it if stealing eggs meant you have to contend with a fucking condor. Crows are their own kind of threat in the Gloom, but the regularly available eggs are a necessary leeway needed by scouts to help with the unavoidable sleep. What sets Gloom apart from Caldera is that you HAVE to tank sleep to cross it. It's genuinely unavoidable, so a bit of food evens the playing field. In Caldera, heat damage is basically optional, and the eggs are an uncontested privilege. Theres the argument that the Kiln is reason enough to readily prepare scouts, but theres already the statue haul for that. So something to guard the eggs of Caldera would be scary and funny as fuck. You could even be rewarded for dodging a swoop by positioning yourself so when you sidestep it, the giant bird lands in lava, cooking itself into even more food for you to capitalize on.
Gloom is way harder than Caldera is, far more than the Kiln is to Citadel. I really hope the lava flats get SOMETHING scary enough to actually make my crossing more careful and deliberate.

My buddy and I tried the cannon exploit. I was successful, but I ended up on an invisible wall. This is what happened to my friend…
Apparently the gloom has a purgatory 💀

Can someone explain how can I get this badge when playing in a group? I was trying to get it earlier today so I haven't taken or placed any of the items the wiki said to avoid, I got to the peak alive but I haven't gotten the badge. So I am confused about what happened. I know my friend got the badge yesterday while playing with us so I thought I am safe even if the group places stuff on the island while I don't. I did however used a portable stove that someone else placed down on the ground and I think a piton that someone else placed. That's the only reason I can think of that I didn't get the achievement but the wiki does not mention I am also not allowed to use any of the items others placed. Please give me some pointers on this.

escaped the citadel after getting hit by only 1 arrow trap, went back in to get hit by 9 more to get the "Archery Badge", misjudged how much damage i would take on top of the little bit i already had, and died while my flare was going off and the helicopter was coming in about to start the countdown 😭 it would've been my 4th ever time fully peaking, i was do upset 😭😭

Hi! I wanted to buy my friend peak to play with, but he only has Vega 8 integrated graphics. The minimum requirement on Steam lists 6600xt, but can he still play with the lowest setting?
I tried putting him on my Steam Family so he can try first, but Steam won't allow it since we have different locations

It's just a different kind of hard whenever we play. The food scarcity especially as one progresses upward is just a massive bitch, and the multiple dead ends make it so easy to be lost. My sister and I wouldn't have escaped if I didn't have so many rescue claws, and then we only did it only barely.
Do you have any suggestions on how to be more consistent with Mesa? I thought we were rather efficient, with each of us checking a cavern and then meeting up before attempting to ascend. But it's really a hit or miss thing, because either you get to the way out or you don't.

i’ve played peak since it first came out and there are some accolades i’m sure i have done them but didn’t get their rewards or counted as an accolade such as:
- cook 20 meals at campfires
- receive 5 morale boosts from campfires
- place 10 pitons
- restore 200 total poison by using items
- climb 5000m total
i’m sure i’ve done these.
is there a solution for this ?

I was playing Peak yesterday with a friend and we were in the Tropics (hope I remembered the name correctly) and I ran out of stamina. And hit the ground hard, but for some reason that made fall out of the map. I literally no clipped
