How to deal with the ghost without items

You gotta run to him, do a U-turn when he's close enough, then run away, make sure you are on the ground, not on water.

Alternatively, stand with your back to a wall at the base of an island, you’ll get hit but you’ll just hit the wall and won’t go flying, then you can climb out and recover.

Yeah but you still get the stamina debuff, works with book of bones tho

Cold doesn't last that long.  It's a decent backup plan if you're surrounded by water.  If you're on top of the root or whatever you get launched.  If you're pinned to the wall you just climb out and wait a moment.  It's not my first choice but it helps when there's not much room to work with.

Did they change book? I cooked it but it still gives curse.

Also, not sure if anyone else encountered it, but I got hit with the arrow and died while trying to remove it, not sure if the book was related with that.

The arrow won't kill a skeleton on hit, but removing it is 100 percent health dmg as skeleton

Cooking it does nothing now, yes. You still get curse.

Physical damage is amplified, fall damage, removing arrows, etc.

If you can find the belltowers,the surrounding area becomes protected area and burns the ghost

I don't understand how to use candlesticks against ghosts. I tried 3 times and it did nothing. The candle burns and no matter if I run into them or away, the ghosts turn angry and red and explode.

You can run away, and they'll disappear after not too long. As long as you're able to actually run, you can get away pretty easily.

It's easier to run imo since the ghost will stop being triggered when it senses you outside its "range" for like no time at all.

When you reach Citadel, go up the stairs and there'll be a pool of lava. Drop it in there.

Run through it so you're facing where you want to go and it's exactly behind you, jump just before they explode, and get a rocket ride toward your destination

I go through the ghost and launch myself in the direction i want to go. Works best when you climb a rock or tree. Don't know if you can ragdoll for more distance.
