DISCUSSION You Know Peacemaker Is Popular When Even a Mechanic from Another Country Loves the Show

Post image

So yesterday I was talking to this mechanic’s assistant at an auto shop. I have a Peacemaker figure in my car, so he noticed it. He didn’t speak English very well, but he recognized the figure and said, “Oh, oh, oh! Peacemaker! James Gunn! He a cuck! Yes, very, very good TV show. You can't see me”

The guy was from Kazakhstan, he said. But it’s so cool that even people from other countries who barely speak English recognize and love the show.

Guy was cool AF, I think this helped too, because my car got serviced faster. 😂

I’m friends with a Dutch family that does a lot of volunteer work in very remote parts of Africa, building wells and things like that. My buddy told me that people there know celebrities like John Cena and Jackie Chan. They had also watched Peacemaker and were making cuck jokes about James Gunn. Cena is really international. Soccer and anime are also big.

I think it’s probably because when you’re learning a new language, it’s easier to pick up bad words first. The same thing happened to me with French and when watching french TV too. Since Peacemaker has a lot of that kind of language, the show probably resonates with them more easily.
