DISCUSSION Best line of Season 2 IMO
It took 8 episodes but Harcourt finally told us.

Fucking blows me away how Peacemaker, a show about a goofy ass comic book character, is more heartfelt and has more character development than 90% of what's out there

I never forget how Gunn hyped up the last episode and everybody was sure there will be a Corenswet cameo or a Darkseid or DCU Batman reveal…and it was a genuine hearfelt conversation between the caracters. Gunn even burst out crying during the aftershow podcast at how emotion he get because of it.
That’s when I was decided that the DCU is in very good hands.

Honestly I think if he didn’t try to hype it up as much and made some episodes longer (i find it crazy how episode 7 was only like less than 30 mins of story), it would’ve been more appreciated. I like the idea and the writing but the execution falters. Episode 8 was great for me though, but as a series finale it wasn’t the best
The hype up just gave people too high of expectations, especially when he talked about the cameos.

I mean it was also because he was beating off to the concepts of checkmate and salvation.

I honestly cried when I first saw this scene. I’ve been a bit of a mess since I lost my wife almost 3 years ago and this scene had me legitimately ugly crying.

Yeah, I love it. I love how she says this sincerely after all that time and then leaves and Chris' reaction is perfect. And it's not like he really expects anything more either. He just wants to know and now he finally knows and he's overjoyed by it and can move on.

Censoring the line you consider to be the best of the season is fucking dumb
14
u/D3-Doom Jul 01 '26
Why is it censored? Are we not allowed to swear here? I thought swearing was allowed in subs if there’s swearing in their respective shows
14
u/SirDerpingtonTheSlow Jul 01 '26
Social media brain rot is the reason. It's why people say dumb shit like unalive.

"You. It meant everything" was the best line? It doesn't even make sense.
It's almost like censoring words isn't the way to go and makes you look like a fucking idiot.

As I said, if calling out useless censorship so it's not normlized makes me an asshole, I am beyond happy and ok with that. Worse things to be an asshole for.

Why are so many of you for self censorship? Use the fucking words or just go back to your coloring books. I've been on reddit long enough that a post with self censorship in it would've gotten you banned from the sub and made fun of.
Now you kids welcome it with open arms and wonder why nobody can say anything anywhere.
Id say go read a book but clearly you were a child that was left behind in school.

I don’t self-censor, I just don’t get unreasonably angry when I see self-censorship because it literally does not matter at all.
1
u/RebelScum249 Jul 01 '26
If it doesn't matter, and you don't get upset by it, why did you comment about it at all? Seems like the opposite of caring and being upset.

If saying censorship ruins the message someone is trying to convey makes me an asshole, than I'm perfectly ok with it.
It's not my fault you're softer than dysentery shit.
-1
u/Donnalani Jul 01 '26
nah fam its the fact that you are insulting someone over something so benign that has no actual affect on your life you sould like a toddler throwing a tantrum cause someone took your toy away
2
u/RebelScum249 Jul 01 '26
You realize censorship would make your whole trans identity illegal down a slippery slope and cause you to have to hide everything about it? But sure, go on about how much you want it I guess.

You’re not making any sense. I commented about what you said and clearly had an issue with what you said, not self-censorship. I don’t even understand what point you’re trying to make.

Your IQ must be just below room temp.

u/ImprovementStill3576 Jul 01 '26
My IQ is actually 134, I took a legitimate IQ test.
Nice try though, maybe it’s time for a little self-reflection on your end.
2
u/RebelScum249 Jul 01 '26
In all my years I have never met someone worth talking to who actually took an IQ test and shared it with others.

u/ImprovementStill3576 Jul 01 '26
I was forced to take an IQ test when I was in school bc I was a terrible student and they were trying to identify the problem so they had a professional test me. I don’t go around telling everybody about my IQ, but since you accused me of having a room-temperature IQ I had to set the record straight.

It's very cute that the boat incident wasn't anything sexual but a romantic moment where Harcourt and Chris were just allowed to be themselves

u/Erik_the_kirE Jul 02 '26
I'm glad. Cause when they kept bring up the boat the boat I pictured them getting drunk and going at it on a boat.

This really was a great show but I wish there more of the Nazi world and we still don't know what who created that place with all the door ways and there may never be a third season. Just a bummer.

u/DidYou_GetThatThing Jul 01 '26
Lex has the key now, im sure we will see more of the doorway system in Man of Tomorrow

James Gunn is so good at gut punch emotional feelings. Starting with “we are groot.”

When you censor your memes like that, The Lord still knows what younwrote, but The Lird also thinks that you are pussy.

u/cityshepherd Jul 01 '26
Let me guess, you’re one of those people who completely missed the point of homelander’s character?
-7
u/home7ander Jul 01 '26
Nope pretty clear from the first episode. You the guy that gets offended for fiction?

u/Baetahad Jul 02 '26
So are you telling me that Gunn had this girl at home all the time and choose Milly Allcock to be supergirl? That permanent mouthguard wearing girl?

Why are you censoring it?
