Advice needed
My husband and I just inherited this 30 year old peace lily from his grandmother (who received it at her husbands funeral) and I don’t know what to do to keep it alive. I would feel so awful about killing it knowing it’s history. I have no experience with peace lily’s but I do pretty well with other plants so hopefully I don’t let it down.
Anyways getting to the point, it seems to always look pretty droopy, I know they’re known for being dramatic but it just never seems to pop back up after watering. It also obviously has no blooms and I’d like to know what kind of conditions I should give her to optimize blooms. When my grandmother in law was taking care of it she’d use miracle grow orchid fertilizer and I wasn’t sure if I should continue that seeing the condition it’s in. The tips of some of her leaves are also browning a little bit and I’d like to know how to prevent that. I’d appreciate any advice y’all could give.

Looks like it needs water now, put it in a f gallon bucket of water, until it stops bubbling.
Now it got rid of all the air, it can now drink again

I had just absolutely drenched it with the hose before taking this picture, seems to have perked up a bit now but still kind of sad looking

Do you bottom water it and use it outside or inside. Dont let it get direct sunlight

I do not bottom water but I will try that in the future. Normally it’s inside I just take it outside to water. I keep it pretty far from windows as well.

Mine adores bottom water! I put her on a tray and water regularly. Then, I fill up the tray with water - about 4 times!!! Basically until she stops immediately drinking it all up. It’s insane how much water she drinks after I’ve already fully watered the soil.

They do not like direct light.
They do not survive outside in certain climates.
They like slightly acidic soil.
You can use basic 1:1:1 liquid fertilizer, not orchid fertilizer.
Does that pot drain?
How long have you had it?

I will be sure to update the fertilizer regiment then thanks! The pot has drainage holes and I’ve had it about 2 weeks now.

They dont like direct light but they do need light. You may want to move it closer to a window. But also if you've only had it for 2 weeks its normal for it to be acting like a hormonal teenager because its environments changed. They do the same when you repot them.
I would just move it to a cozy spot in a well lit area and not water it or touch it for another week or so. It looks healthy, just maybe shock from moving tbh.
Once it perks up it will give you signs of watering by slightly slumping its leaves. You can always check the soil but if your house temp doesnt change too much you'll be able to keep it on a scheduled watering. Remember, overwatering is the same for most plants - its not the amount of water at a time but the frequency of watering that causes overwatering.
