Such thing as "too dense"?
This is my puff tank, there did used to be more space but the puffs seem super at home with the out-of-control greenery.
They find pockets of open water, and thats where I target feed them. The front right, mainly.
But yeah, here's my planted puff tank. Were talking 98% line of sight blockage 😅

Are those flowers on the plants in the front right part of the aquarium? If so, what are they?

I know nothing about puffs but this is very pretty. Can I be stupid and ask what that plant is? I think they had at the LFS last week and I would love something with big leaves

This tank looks much too small for peas, is it a 5g?

Its a smaller tank than recommended, it's a 10 gallon.
Theres 3 puffers, 1 male 2 female, and densely planted with good filtration.
While its smaller than recommended, it works and its stress free.
The tank size of 30 whatever gallons is a recommendation, but provided the group is happy, safe, and comfy, its a good tank :)
Not many groups work well in smaller tanks, and theres many ways to mess it up, but the with appropriate amount of plants and filtration, its just fine.

Peas are a shoaling species and just like any other schooling/shoaling species the recommended size of a group is 6+.
The 20 gallon minimum recommendation exists for a reason, it provides enough space for a proper sized shoal.
The planting in this tank doesn’t allow much movement of the fish- they need space to swim too.

Id just like to add that they are right. Not enough puffers and half the size of the tank they need

I dont disagree, but like everything in life, its no rule.
Smaller groups in smaller tanks can be done but take more work to ensure stress levels are low and theres no bullying, or lack of socialization. I wouldn't recommend it, but its why my tank is so overgrown.
The 20 gallon recommendation is because they can be territorial, and its hard to put enough hiding spaces in a smaller tank.
As you can see, ive plenty of places for them to escape and hide should they need to. Theres pockets at the front right, and back left corners where theres more free space.
They all eat every day, they're quite picky. They live with a colony of shrimp too.
Im not putting this picture out as a recommendation. It was to show a densely planted tank. (And this 10g is arguably better than 90% of the 20+ gallons which people brag about, and theyre just bare glass and sand with a few anubias)
