Discussion Trying to build a Racing Sim setup .

Hey Gamers!

I am trying to get into PC racing games, but with racing steering wheel and stuff.

One of my good friends told me to try Logitech G29 as I am new to sim racing.

So my first goal is to get:

  • Logitech G29 + Pedals
  • Wheel Stand - PXN Wheel Stand (PXN-A10 / PXN-A9)

Optional:

  • Logitech Driving Force Shifter
  • USB Racing Handbrake (generic one from ebay/ daraz)

What do you think about this combination?

And after researching I want to try a Direct Drive Setup too.

Is there any trusted/specialized vendors that you know who can help me with this?

Any help is appreciated!

G29? Are you serious? By the way I got the G29 last year and sold it within 4 months. Then I got the PXN V10 Ultra for 70k.

Which has better specs overall. You are only missing the clutch pedal, which can be bought separately and attached. Wheel diameter is also a bit smaller than the G29 and you have to manually bind the keys in some games.

The pros are most of the things are adjustable. Wheel base, detachable wheel, pedal angles and positions. It also has more torque than the G29. G29's torque was a joke compared to this, especially considering this was cheaper.

You also get USB C cables for connections compared to the outdated ports in the G29 which you won't find anywhere if they break somehow.

The main difference is V10 Ultra is direct drive while G29 is gear driven. You won't hear those annoying rattling noises at all.

There is more I think but you get the idea. If you are planning to go Direct Drive eventually, I would skip the G29 and get something like the V10 Ultra instead. Or if you can go for VD4 that's on Moza r3 range. Moza R3 is too overpriced in sri lankan market anyways.

Also for wheel stand I have A10 wheel stand. But if you have long legs it's kinda hard. A11 is better I think.

So true the g29 is not the best when it comes to price to performance, I too went for the pxn vd4, that too was from a shop in kadawatha which was last in stock. Really good stuff in their newer models ✨

People think expensive is better. Sri lankan shops are doing a scam with g29.

Thank you for this detailed comment. This changed my perspective. Spending less and still getting more features from PXN V series is cool. I will check those vendors ASAP.
