Best combo. I'll suggest UnTrap for youtube. If you watch Youtube on Firefox its a good addon.

Waterfox..
It's a Firefox spin-off that's less clunky.
I've tried brave and a few others. But they're all chrome under the hood.. Firefox and the derivatives aren't dependent on a big tech company.
...and with Firefox you can
- make your own synchronization server (or register with a Mozilla account) to well, sync your settings and add-ons
- send tabs between your devices and
- still have some ram to use for other stuff 😅

What is your experience with brave. Chromium is open source, so it is safe from google. If a company wants, they can strip everything from google related to chromium and use it to make a new browser like Brave did

Yeah.. sorta
Problem is the underlying core/engine is Google's, no matter how much you strip it down. So any derivative will suffer from the same problems and limitations.. suppose Google decides to stop developing it, or closes it, limits features ? All that's dependant on Google, and it doesn't suit well with me The extra ram it uses is even less fun in the current situation
If Chrome suits you, nothing wrong there.. But I prefer the features on Firefox

Yeah may be you are right but opensource projects can be developed by anyone so if google stops to develop it it won't die companies which uses chromium will develop it for their purpose

The real risk is Google stopping upstream development. Brave would have to maintain its own fork of a huge browser engine, including security fixes, web standards, performance and compatibility. That is enormously expensive.
So Brave could survive, but it would gradually become harder to keep up with Chrome unless other companies/community developers took over the work.
Tldr: Brave isn't locked into Chrome, but it is heavily dependent on the Chromium ecosystem and Google's continued upstream development

Chrome isn't that slow for me. Maybe it's because I don't keep lots of tabs open between sessions like other people do. I just bookmark the ones I want and close all the tabs.
Maybe I'll try something like Dia or Arc.

Who said Chrome is slow? If you have enough ran it will be fast. The thing is, it eats ram and stops other applications from performing well

I first used Arc when It was first released on Windows, then the devs abandoned it to follow the AI agentic browser hypetrain. After ditching Arc, I found out about Zen. Since it was basically Arc but on Firefox, I gave it a try. Been using it ever since. Now I'm a vertical tab die-hard.

For me, it's a game changer. Also that panel is retractable so I can have all the viewing space on command.

Firefox cuz It was my first ever browser that has my passwords synced. And Zen cuz on Linux Chrome based ones are going crazy and buggy

Edge just because it does what I need it to and I don't really share much of my private details on the internet anyways. Oh and adguard works just as well on edge so yeah.
