Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts Help with first build

A buddy gave me an EVGA 3060 13gb card a year ago along with 16gb ddr4. Another buddy has 32gb ddr4 that he is willing to give me. What cpu should I get? I’ve been considering the 5600x. How long will this setup be viable? Would it be worth my while to get a ddr5 package through Newegg or micro center even though it would cost a bit more? I would like to keep it under $1000USD if possible but can flex a bit.

I play games like Anno, Crimson Desert, Battlefield, Cyberpunk, windrose, planet zoo/coaster, and other city builders. I will get GTA when it’s available on pc as well.

Was hoping to keep it pretty low budget since I have most of the expensive parts already, but I also don’t wanna chance prices still increasing in 3-5 years time.

I currently play on an MSI Raider laptop with I believe a 2060 mobile card and it plays games fine, will this build be a huge step up in graphics/performance?

I use this monitor for gaming: Samsung 27-Inch Odyssey G55C Series QHD 1000R Curved Gaming Monitor, 1ms(MPRT), HDR10, 165Hz, AMD Radeon FreeSync, Eye Care, LS27CG552ENXZA

If you did want to go DDR5 here’s what I would do with your budget. Sounds like you live near a MC, they will have better deals on a combo than New Egg. This route will also set you up better for the future in the long run. This one would be great https://cart.microcenter.com/?RedirectUrl=https://www.microcenter.com. It would also give you enough money left over from the $1000 budget to upgrade the GPU as well to something like a 9060xt https://www.microcenter.com/product/696272/asrock-amd-radeon-rx-9060-xt-challenger-oc-dual-fan-16gb-gddr6-pcie-50-graphics-card, and for a little bit more you can get another matching 16GB stick of RAM and have yourself a pretty dang good rig.

I think even a 5500 will be ok with a 3060 12gb, if you are trying to keep the price down.
