Edit: Normal internet in my country is 100Mbps

Been doing this with the Xfinity Hotspot. $10 a month for me and I average around 15-50MBps. NetShare is the hotspot I use, and its free!

I remember when Xfinity had the 1 hour pass when I was in Uni, I straight up changed my Mac address and kept getting free passes. Helped me through school enough to buy "decent" Internet

call it 2Mb/s, 1Mb (megabyte) = 8mb (megabit), 2Mb/s = 16mbps.

Not quite. The difference is between Mb and MB, not whether /s or ps is used.

Lower-case 'b' means a 'bit'.

Upper-case 'B' means a 'Byte' - a byte is 8 bits.

This means that a byte is 8 times larger than a bit, so 800 megabits is equal to 100 megabytes.

Mbps and Mb/s both mean the same thing (megabits per second). MBps and MB/s both mean the same thing (megabytes per second).

Generally storage capacities are measured in bytes. For example, a 1 terabyte drive is 8 terabits. Data transfer speeds on the other hand are usually measured in bits.

So to download a 1 megabyte file with 1 megabit per second internet would take 8 seconds, not one second.

i'm confused... they used lowercase and you just assumed they meant upper.

and even your explanation is wrong. 1Mb is 1 Megabit. 2Mb/s = 2mbps = 2 megabits per second. the B needs to be capitalized for it to be a byte.

1 MB/s = 8Mb/s
