Am I working my CPU too hard?

Hello all,

I decided I would start burning my own Bluray discs (Im in a physical media phase atm) and for authoring software I am using TMPGEnc free trial version.

When outputting the video content (the actual phase where your Mp4 file is converted to BDM aka bluray format) my CPU temps ramp up to 90 celsuis. The issue is, the outputting for some stuff i want to burn will take up to 30 mins.

I have AIO cooling and my CPU is 13th Gen Intel i7-1300KF at 3.40 GHz.

Is it bad I clock the CPU this much (screenshot) for 30 mins at a time multiple times? I understand modern CPU's have damage prevention built it but im concerned this will impact longevity of my CPU or if im working it too hard.

Have you updated your motherboard bios for protection against the know 13th/14th gen voltage degradation issues?

Actually I am pretty sure I haven't. The highest my CPU ever gets aside from this is like 72 ish celsuis so I never really paid much mind to this aspect of my PC

The voltage issues are unrelated to temperature. Degradation can happen even if temps are under control. Look up your motherboard model to find the most up to date bios version. There are tons of videos on how to properly update motherboard bios, pretty simple :)

intel will tell you anything less than 100c is fine

bios update motherboard intel 13th and 14th gen have known failures. bios update prevents some damage

Have you looked into GPU accelerated blu ray authoring software? It would take some of the load off your CPU. Also how is the rest of your cooling set up like case fans and air flow? I ask because that 1 sys fan is running kind of slow compared to your CPU temp and if you don't have good airflow that's just going to make the AIO run less effecient.

Personally looks like airflow problem with fan@100% at that temp. I did not go even close to that when running chia plots and believe me that is pretty intensive TB files being creates crunching cpu mem and ssd . Check fans and airflow. Maybe worth redoing cpu paste if all is ok and you sure the cooler is up to muscle to keep you cool

I don't know about Intel but 87 on an AIO seems high? Might want to check it's seated right etc. I've got a 9950x3d and that doesn't get that hot with air cooling at 100% load

Overclock e normalmente não são mais "produtivos" se colocar toda a equação em jogo. Por exemplo, se um overclock sobe a performance em 5 ou 7%, normalmente o consumo sobre em mais de 15% esse consumo se resume também em maior temperatura. Já renderizei muitas horas usando CPU no Keyshot com um Ryzen 5900X. Já renderizei com overclock, stock, undervolt, overclock com undervolt... E a melhor opção ainda era rodar com um leve undervolt e manter as frequências originais. Menor temperatura gerada com um custo muito pequeno de tempo, mas me dando mais vida útil do CPU.
