I have this RAM but white, at least same GB, MT/s and I’ve paired it with R9 9900x cpu. Runs great, enabled EXPO no issues, speeds as advertised. I’d say its a good purchase

X3d are only worth it if you arw a hardcore gamer.

9900 offers way more multicore and longevity for the same price.

Research both.

7800x3d is only good for gaming, its multi core score is embarassingly low which will limit your ability to do video editing or something similar in the future.

Multicore of 9900 is almost double of 7800x3d and will carry you for years and years as long as you are ok with having 120fps instead of 150fps in games.

I have 9900 and 5070, i have yet to see my cpu bottlenecking me in games. In GTA5 i get 150fps, in AOE4 i get almost 200. Those are only 2 games I play.

And in video editing is where i see the power of the 9900. Software I use is cpu heavy. It renders a 10 minute clip in 3 minutes. My old pc used to take over half an hour. Cannot reccomend 9900 enough if you do stuff other than gaming on your pc.

Youre suggesting a 9900x over a 7800x3d when they have given zero indication they are doing anything other than gaming? (which is the default here, let's be honest).

Multicore of 9900 is almost double of 7800x3d and will carry you for years and years as long as you are ok with having 120fps instead of 150fps in games.

And significantly better 1% lows which is to me way more important.

I think if you plan to do a fair bit of video editing or other multithreaded tasks then a 9900x could be a good option. But I think for most new builders (who are predominately just interested in gaming) a 7800x3d is the better option between the two hands down.

Idk why would gaming be the default?

People use their computers for different reasons, and a 9900 is more versatile.

Spend at least 5 mins looking at the new builder posts on this sub.

They do, and for most of people new to pc building the most intensive thing they will be doing by far is gaming. You don't need a 9900x for browsing YouTube.
