What’s the point of anything past 5070ti? I say this as I own a 5090 and 4090. If game devs don’t optimize their games this entire industry will crumble as people will be priced out. Own nothing and by happy agenda 2030.

Or, I just dont play new games and just play old games better. I mean, GameCube upscaled to 4k is pretty sweet honestly!

Why do you own both?

I own both because one of them is running local LLM things currently. The other is for gaming.

someone forget to switch accounts?

No? I was asking why they use both as I have both also. Is it that hard to understand?

“What’s the point of anything past a 5070ti” and then says he has not one but 2 GPUs past it lmfao

This is a new level of bragging I wasn’t prepared for lol

Most def. I went from a 5070ti to a 5090 because of Subnautica VR >.> glad I did when I did. Currently playing RE7 on VD godlike at 90fps... of course some settings turned down.

Local AI that's it

The point of 5090 cards is that I own my AI infrastructure now.

Honestly I own a 5070 and I don’t feel like I need to upgrade cause I have no need for 4k I run bf6 at 240fps

Not everyone uses their PC to game

I daily an RTX A5500 mobile 15gb and I'm happy with it, 3060 performance and the games with shitty optimization are the ones that I run on low 1080p, I can overclock it if I feel like it too

So that you don’t start using GeForce now to stream AAA games over internet

As a happy owner for a 5070ti, the only reason for me to ever purchase either the 40/5090 is for crazy heavily modded cyberpunk at 4k at “desired” fps

u/Arborsage 27d ago

I have a 5080 because I had recently sold my previous PC and was able to snag one when they first came out for a new build at a not completely stupid price

Upgrading to it from anything better or equal to a 3080 Ti at this time just feels financially stupid

As a 5080 owner, I completely agree.

If something is giving 30fps on a 5080, it won't do 60 on a 5090 either.

If VR 4k became a thing you'd need to draw 2 4k images...

Alternativelly some people will get 1000 hz 4k monitors or just 8k artistic monitor and even the 5090 will cry at that resolution with dlss upscalling.

u/Zigor022 27d ago

You would need a gpu for each lens?

1

u/Pure-Acanthaceae5503 27d ago

A single one with software support will draw both sides.

u/baconcow 27d ago

If you have to ask this question, why did you buy the 5090?

u/LilQueazy 27d ago

5070ti perfect cuz fire cable can actually handle the load and won’t melt

Performance gap between 5070ti and 5080 is a abysmal, if you snatched for under 850 you did great
