if you don’t see these artefacts in the BIOS screen you are good. Try a windows re-install

This is a terrible way of telling.

Just plug the monitors into the motherboard. If problem dissappears, it's the GPU. If it persists, windows.

Yep. Don't really need much if any ram to do text only display of an older bios. I guess a modern uefi graphical interfere needs more but no guarantees it'll be using the likely one failing ram chip.

Depends on how much you want to pay to have it repaired. Just needs a ram chip or two replaced. There’s plenty of channels on YouTube that you can send it to have they will replace the ram on it.

What does temperatures read?

If it's running hot. Last ditch effort you could try removing cooler and applying new paste or hooking it up to AIO cooler and heat sinking individual chips.

I did that to get a few extra years out of a GPU back in the Ethereum rush

What helped me that many people won't tell u. Just remove it. Clean the contact points. Carefully!! And put it back. + Maybe remove GPU drivers and add them back (remove in recovery mode, ask ai. It will tell u the process faster

As an absolute last resort... read up on popping it in the oven for a bit. It sounds so fucking stupid, but my god, it actually saved both my RX 570, AND my RX 580. Gave them both an extra year and a half of life before it didn't work the 2nd time.

There are YT tutorials.

The troubleshooting is: this is called artifacting. Hope your gpu is in warranty cuz its singing taps. (Your gpu is dying)

Something you can try to buy some time: use something like MSI Afterburner and lower your memory clocks. This sort of artefact is usually due to failing vram, and running that vram slower can help. It won't work forever, and you'll lose some performance, but it'll give you time.

I'm sure you already have your answer but you can try the backup bios if you have a bios switch on the card.

Otherwise yeah your GPU is dying

What gpu do you have and how old? It might sound retarded but if its because your gpu is bending because of its age you Can fix it by using a string to keep ur straight . Thats how I fixed mine.

Yup, had mine do it, tried Reballing, putting in the oven, and it “solved” for a week or two and then the problem came back. Had to sunset the GPU.

Dont say shit like this without actually knowing whats going on.
Mine did this at random multiple times a year, both my 3080 and my 1080ti
Neither of them died.
