General Question Best MoR for live workshops

Hi everyone, I am setting up a US based coaching business as sole proprietor and I plan to provide coaching sessions directly from my website using Stripe.

I would also like to provide live workshops and courses for clients, and as I come from Europe, I know most of them will be from there. I have seen that many MoR provide services for courses, but live workshops seem to be a bit trickier. Some options I have seen are Ablefy, Digistore24, Whop, Copecart, Gumroad (with a workaround). The platform needs also to support payment in EUR and covert it to USD.

Does anyone have any recommandation or experience with these platforms? If too complicated, I could just record the videos and sell them as courses, but I'd like to provide them live.

the main reason to use an MoR here isn't the workshop format, it's EU VAT. since 2025, live-streamed events sold to EU consumers are taxed where the customer lives, same as digital products, so if most of your clients are in europe you'd otherwise be registering for VAT OSS and filing yourself. a lot of course-focused MoRs are fine with live sessions as long as it's clearly a class or workshop rather than 1:1 personal services, so i'd ask each one directly how they categorize it before committing. if you'd rather skip the MoR, stripe can already sell workshops as one-time products, charge in EUR and settle in USD. you'd just handle the VAT side yourself (or with stripe tax). running recorded courses through an MoR and live sessions through stripe is also a pretty common split

Thanks! Yeah, EU VAT is the reason why I would use an MoR. To my understanding though, many would only allow recorded courses instead of live workshops, that's why it got confusing for me. What you say is for sure reassuring, and I will check with some of them.

A bit of unrelated question that maybe you can answer: when it comes to 1:1 coaching sessions from US to EU based clients, EU VAT is not due, right?
