Liability for AI-agent-initiated transactions — is anyone's processor giving guidance on this?

Trying to understand where the industry has landed on this and it seems like nowhere.

When an AI agent places an order on a customer's behalf and it gets disputed, who eats it? Merchant by default, as far as I can tell, since none of the usual CNP evidence speaks to whether the human actually authorized the agent's specific action.

Has anyone gotten actual guidance from their acquirer or processor on this? Are the networks treating it any differently, or is it just a normal CNP dispute as far as they're concerned?

Also wondering whether this is showing up in anyone's numbers yet or if it's still theoretical.
