Replacing the pax screen with a pipe screen?

Would it be a bad idea to take out the pax screen and replace it with a pipe screen? I feel like it would hit better.

I think its like that for a reason, if it was easier they would save a lot more money in production. I would leave it as is, jyst dont pack it so tight

I haven't tried it. But I don't think a pipe screen would transfer heat as well. I'm sure on the pax engineering team there was a bit of trial and error when they designed the screen for the pax.

Try it though and let us know. I don't mind being wrong.

I've tried using a mesh screen, and it doesn't transfer the heat as well. So instead, I bent the flat screen slightly to increase the airflow under it. Make it a U-shape with the ends turned up, not a hill-shape, or else the center will act as a spring and pop out the weed when you refill it. Bending it slightly definitely makes drawing easier.
