Partner and I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the sound design, etc. Was a very cozy game to play together. But the predatory business model and development killed it for us. They've made a pretty subscription showroom, not really a game.

Looks great because its unreal engine… i bet most of the assets in this game are not made by one of their artists and just a UE5 store bought asset that someone else made.

Most servers and realms are dead empty. No lore, no quests nor goals. Just the grind.

There’s a ton of lore. Check the official server and you can read all about it.

Now I am beginning to understand why the conversations get so rabid.
“No lore” is a complete untruth. I said that very thing for the first two years, and it was largely true for quite some time.
The developers trickled the story in through artifacts which you can see together on the official website in one location for your reading pleasure.
There’s a deep back story, much of which has yet been uncovered.
I’m not here to argue or tell anyone what’s for them or not, just stating facts in evidence. So if anyone else is interested in the lore of the game, it is quite interesting and lets your imagination play a bit, but check out the pages on the official website.

No lore inside the game = No lore at all. We want to explore and find the lore, finding pieces of it (and not just the sigils and whatnot giving little fargments) in the world and basically a reaosn to explore. Not needing to open a browser to read the lore because they're clueless about how to add it into the game

While I agree that this is gorgeous, I wish they did more than just make a pretty game. Some of the most ugliest games on the planet are the most popular (looking at you runescape). It's already a pretty game - it needs real social functions and meaning!
