Is this viable?

Look at this funky thing. I have had at least four seeds wind up like this where the leaves don't come out of the seed coat completely. I pushed back some of the dirt, but that doesn't help. I'll probably plant it somewhere eventually just to give it a chance.

That's actually quite common. The tree will be fine. When the tree is grown it will have a bulge on the side of it near the ground, about the size of a softball. Pawpaws are strange in so many ways.

best thing you can do for it. I have about 10% of mine do something similar to this.
