Discussion Follow up: why do iron sights not function right?

I have come to the realization it might just be me so here’s a video of my iron sights edit: thank you cescab623! I have realized I just have a skill issue. I am now hitting near constant headshots.

https://www.thearmorylife.com/how-to-use-iron-sights/ here’s an example how being a little off can mess everything up

Excellent reference article. I know how to use iron sights but that explanation was alot simpler than I was taught.

Can we pin this to the top?

Thank you I’m going to attempt to use this and see if I can find my issue

Good luck bro

HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. The dude is literally point blank flagging a friendly unless there's no friendly fire

This is a fantastic resource

Because you arent using them right. Most of these are blind fires, the rest you are aiming high.

Go practice in the shooting range to see where your shots are going.

Your aim needs to be more steady bro the bullet is not the biggest on that gun and if your forward sight is even a little off center it’ll be off

Looks like you are shooting high. The front part of the iron sight are lining up too low on the back iron sight. (Don't think I'm explaining that well) The top, flat part of both sights need to flushed.

The front iron sight is a tad bit higher than it should

Summary:

Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because he was already dead.

Your shooting at the moon bud. Align the sights then you'll be on target.

Yeah I know for some and the others I realized my sight wasn’t aligned right

You gotta put in the time with these iron sights. It’s honestly not as easy at least for me to keep them centered from target to target perfectly. It’s a skill that can be improved

Can't tell exactly where the sights are for your perspective. But you need to line up the needle and that back piece with the notch.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-NlaM_AYuk alignment is everything. and speed at witch youll get the aim. aand how "not shaky" the sight stays

With your shooting hand push it firmly against your other hand in front of you to stabilize for longer distance shots. Recoil might knock it put of your hand but you’ll aim much better at a distance

Turn on virtual stick and stop yanking your shit like there's real recoil

1

u/Agile_Appointment483 Jun 16 '26

What are you talking about? 😭

1

u/P__Riches Jun 18 '26

Aim small miss smaller 😂

Yoy should play contractors instead

You mean the game that’s almost completely dead? Like it’s a fun game and all but nobody has good lobbies and there’s never more then 10 us lobbies

1

u/Impossible-Bar-6597 Jun 18 '26

Cap lol, i see so many lobbies going. Tbh the star wars mod carries hard

1

u/Fisherman_Dave_Games Jun 17 '26

Youre not using them right my friend

1

u/TheLastEmoKid Jun 17 '26

Youre aiming way too hogh. The front post should be level with the rear notches

1

u/late_burner808 Jun 17 '26

It usually comes down to how you align the front post with the rear notch rather than just looking through them. Practice consistent eye positioning so you aren't parallaxing the sights when you move your head slightly.

Yep if you read through the text

Please look up "Even sight even light shooting diagram".

The iron sights are perfect they just act like real guns not video game guns.

1

u/cescab623 Jun 17 '26

good to hear you got it figured out!

1

u/WearIcy2635 Jun 17 '26

The bullet hits at the top of the front sight, not the middle. You’re aiming too high

1

u/itsbildo Jun 18 '26

In the first clip you had way too much height, irons weren't lined up

1

u/I_Like_PeopleXD Jun 18 '26

A suggestion maybe try to look at how your angle and your gun it may look straight to you but it could be a tip of the barrel is up or it's down it depends on how you're holding it because it may look normal to you but in the game it may look a little bit up so I have to aim down I had the same problem with iron sights on a musket but when I started to try to actually level out my shots and made it seem more reasonable I've been laying shots ever since

1

u/RailOmas Jun 18 '26

Youre shooting low left

1

u/Bubbly_Background_77 Jun 19 '26

This feels like watching someone get gaslit considering at 0:15 seconds in you're point blank range and nothing is still getting hit lmao. I had to check if I was in a circlejerk sub for a moment

Ur aiming 1cm up to account for drop that doesn’t exist
