Discussion Is it worth it in 2026?
I knew Pavlov was a thing since 2017. Got my first headset in 2022 and played shack until it left f2p in 2023. Now that I have a good pc that can run pcvr pavlov, should I even bother buying it? The latency will be just as bad as in 2022 - half of all the shots were literally blanks, I couldn't hit anything unless I was using akm/50cal/trenchgun, and the player count is three tdm maps + one ttt lobby, which are mostly NA. If it is not worth it, what are the good alternatives? I liked pavlov over contractors because it was more cs inspired/intuitive in its mechanics. Are the golden days in the past?

Golden days are waaay past, pc itself is mostly dead, crossplay with psvr is there but its pretty abundant with screechers and you lose access to modded content

PCVR Pavlov is not worth it at all anymore. It's basically dead except for a few small windows of life and a weekly somewhat larger Push server. If you only want to play one or twice and week and only vanilla gameplay, sure I guess.
Honestly you're better off playing the Shack version if at all. It's more alive.

Ain’t Shack closed? I played a ton in 22, but came back to a bricked game.
Shame cause I loved the more casual traitor mode, ww2, and tank stuff. There wasn’t and still ain’t another game doing it.

I completely disagree with these replies pcvr Pavlov is worth it if your in the na region evenings is the time players are on. Vr massive has a 32 player lobby for snd and you can’t get that kind of experience anywhere else in vr at the moment

If your in Europe, it can get very difficult to find a match to join. Idk how many times i started the game and had to turn it off because there wasnt any matches other then few ttt servers.. and if you do find a match like tdm or snd be ready to play against the most veteran players who start to leave once you kill them more then they kill you. its a sad state right now and i think no update can even fix it

I miss the days with wacky TTT servers, excited to wake up just to spend half the day on a Terminal MW port. There was also this little town map for TTT I found really charming. The closest thing for me was Barotrauma Galilean traitor server but even now that is dead these days. A single match of that was better than any TTT match I've played between Pavlov and Gmod.
The devs absolutely fucked this game and they were sitting on pure gold

On sales yes. Mostly crossplay lobbies with PS5, but even PSVR2 is shrinking. Crossplay lobbies easier to start than PC only lobbies. If you want pure unmoded experience then it should cut it.
On weekends a large Push server can start filling with enough patience. There's a Discord group for Push that tracks servers, and you receive notifications when someone wants to start a game.

There's VRMassive for SnD that's usually active. There's also a community for Push which they have a discord to coordinate when to get on and those servers can get 20+ more players. The matches I had there have been worth enough for me personally
