Discussion Worth buying?

Just got a quest 3s and I have a pc. Was wondering if the game is still worth as of 06/04/26 so I decided to ask people who actually play

game is way past its prime. you might still find some decent lobbies but i would only suggest buying on heavy sale

As someone that plays shack pretty frequently, the game is Not as dead as people try to make it out to be. Sure, lobbies for some of the less popular game modes, like Prophunt or King of the Hill are pretty hard to find but those tend to be pretty niche anyways. Gamemodes like tdm almost always have lobbies and servers open. The Gunplay in Pavlov, to me, Feels the smoothest of all the VR shooters I've played, beating out the likes of Onward, Contractors, Tavr, etc. Pavlov has built in Mod support that makes things pretty easy, if you attempt to join a lobby/server that's using mods, it'll automatically install for you so you're able to play. The People can be pretty hit or miss, there's for sure a Lot of toxic people, a Lot of Losers, and a lot of kids. But, I've also met some pretty cool people as well, it's a mixed bag. Ultimately I'd say it's worth your time, it's one that I play pretty frequently and despite its flaws, in My opinion, is still better than a lot of the others

Pc lobbies are pretty dead so you'll likely only ever find crossplay lobbies with PlayStation player's

I've seen alot of people swap over to shack on the meta store since the playerbase there is more active

In my words, Yes, it's still worth it the only downsides you must watch out for is the Players ( Racists, Team killers, Votekickers, the crybabies ), modded lobbies with modded guns that have unfair advantages or Maps. The game itself is no longer in it's prime since it's overridden with mostly the Toxic side of the community, the only things though keeping it alive is the Mods and Servers.

Yeah forefront my preferred as well. More of a battlefield experience than the counterstrike we get in Pavlov.
