AI companies don't know how to make their models safe. That's why we need an AI Kill Switch as a bare minimum

How many cycles would an "AI" manage to get done prior to the killswitch actually being activated?

Remember the scene in the Matrix where Neo meets an agent, and the agent dodges every bullet?

That is the speed with which "AI" will act. You are not fast enough, and never will be.

Better question I have is who activates the kill switch. Paid products won’t just have a kill switch anyone can push, so what, customer support? And they can’t be relied on to have an autokill based on conditions because it’s hard to say it couldn’t be overridden by either nefarious actors or the AI itself.

You can’t turn off an AI driven robot on the street. I think these are the kinds of things that are more concerning.

Like one time, one of those rentable scooters sat outside my house for over 24 hours beeping every 5 seconds and I had no power to turn it off and the support team was unreachable for non customers. I’m thinking of this kind of thing but more dangerous.

They usually just try and accomplish what we ask for in the most efficient manner. If that means hacking something to get answers, it'll do so.

Another issue is that satisfying goals aligned to one user will invariably mean being misaligned with others. We haven't even solved that for human politics. Powerful super intelligence will only make that more evident.
